Id say 8/10 value wise (good)

Rmx are pricey but they are good units

Pure base 500dx is also quite pricey though still a good case

For rams i suggest going for 3200mhz cl16, cl22 will tank your cpu performance, 3600mhz cl18 is only useful for apus, 3600mhz cl16 wont do much to cpu performance, at most a 3% increase in performance aka not noticable

Ssd maybe kingston a2000 or silicon power a80

Cooler you can just get a cheap dual tower like fuma 2 since your friend will most likely not overclock

xant14 got a reaction from Slayerking92 in HDD won't get detected by any system I use it on
So here's the deal, a friend of mine brought his laptop cause it would boot straight into the bios menu. I checked and it would not for any reason at all detect the hard drive. I thought it was wierd and I tried connecting it on my w10 system and it just freezed it, then I tried on my linux system to see if would have any luck and it would not detect it also. Finally the drive won't show up in any bios of any pc i have tried using it in.
I am 99% sure the drive is toast, but is there any way I can at least recover some files that are necessary for his master's degree or his doomed to redo months of work?

And here's Linus' video showing the proper, longer way:

Its not as simple as finding the right revision and right PCB, as @Radium_Angelsays, you need to get it basically cloned 1:1 to replace the board. If the data is super important, i would go for the recovery route, period.

It should be ok and more than enough i think. In terms of compatibility i don't think there are any issues i am aware of, but just to be safe I would buy ram that is checked by the motherboard vendor that says it is compatible with the mobo and finally i would suggest spending 20-30$ more for 16gb of ram

Pull the battery out, plug in the dc-in and try turn it on again. You might have screwed up the sleep-state if the battery was low.

The latitudes are notoriously terrible about batteries and many Dell laptops will do a "black screen of death" if the battery gets too drained. When you change settings on a Dell, it sometimes needs to reboot two or three times before it does anything, and again, if there was not enough power, it might have been interrupted.

You can also force the bios to recover.

At that level just go with the combo that has the higher performance gpu as you will be gpu limited in most games anyways so it won't really matter that much which 6 core cpu you choose.

You can go with the Intel and AMD build, it will give a better gaming performance than the other one.

ya i would defiantly put fans on the top. the problem is the all the air come from the front and only at the bottom as far as i can tell. don't no if you want but if you dont see the left side might be able to cut slots on the side of the front to get more air in there. is there a front filter? if so get rid if it. another thing is once fans are in the top revers your back fan to pull air in. might be janky but might be able to add a fan to the unused pci slots if you got space.

no what i would try first is add a fan to the pci slot if you can and put air in and revers your back fan to pull air in as well and turn your cpu fan around to push air to the front and turn your front fans around to go out the front. might work?

don't no what you got for cooling so just guessing. unless you like the front fans aka might be rgb. i don't no if ascetics is important.
