Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am currently building a pc for a friend and I am in a dilemma should i go with the i5 and rx5600xt or r5 and gtx1660s both come about 450-460€ and the rest of the budget doesn't change with either option. Which one should i go with? The pc woll be used almost exclusively for gaming.

You can go with the Intel and AMD build, it will give a better gaming performance than the other one.

At that level just go with the combo that has the higher performance gpu as you will be gpu limited in most games anyways so it won't really matter that much which 6 core cpu you choose.

Thank everyone for the help I went ahead and orders the i5 and rx combo and right now I am waiting for them.
