I recently bought a new laptop with the help of our magnificent GeneXiS_X and despite his warning I went ahead and bought one of Lenovo's 7 series Yoga, the C740 to be precise. He warned me about their QC issues and he was right. I had to return one because of some dead pixels. I was very pleased with the second one until I noticed that a part of the bezel pops out every time I switch it into tablet mode.( I'll include a pic) I use it mainly for taking notes with a stylus and coding on Visual Studio.
 
Should I worry about this issue? Im thinking about returning it and buying some other laptop. Im willing to spend around 1200 Euro. The 2-in-1 factor really works wonders for my use case. Got any suggestions?

You can see how having each wire the correct length allows the cable to follow a fairly complex curve.

Hi all! I'm about to start planning a HTPC build but not sure were to start. I built my first gaming PC 3 years ago and I'm hooked and want to build another, this time for my lounge room TV. I have a spare i5 6600k so i want to use that if possible but other then that I have nothing else. I mainly want it to be able to browse the web, netflix, music and maybe light gaming (but not really needed). Id also like it to be a media center for all my movies, so BIG storage. But most importantly I want it in a small form factor, either mini or micro atx. What should I be looking for? Any must haves for HTPCs?

You could run Tomb Raider on that SNES. I love it when people rig up old tech to be new. Not as much of a sleeper tho.

Go for this one. It's a reasonable price for the specs. Plus MSI is a trusted laptop brand (not saying that Dell and HP aren't, but they don't specialize in gaming).

Oof to the I-Phones **Nokia Lyfe.** Yes, the build quality is a bit better, but not enough for the extra cost (shut up I know it's the components). Similar temps, my dude.

I really hope they have another one. I don’t have money to buy a rig. All I have is a crappy 2007 MacBook with 1gb ddr2 ram and a core 2 duo processor.

Hi all. I'm committing to an idea that I've had for a long long time: building a gaming PC inside a vintage Millennium Falcon toy. I'm calling the project "The Kessel Run" for very nerdy reasons:

Here's the toy as it arrived at my place (note: that's the guy who I got it from, not me if you were interested). It's not mint and it's not the original 1977 model... all good things considering what I'm gonna do to this sucker's vintage toy status. The plan is to not only fit a computer in it, but to wall mount it on a flying mount like those used for TVs. For that reason, I'm going to be building a metal skeleton into the toy first, then using that skeleton to mount the PC to. That way, 30ish year old plastic isn't responsible for the safety of hundreds of dollars of tech.
 
Of course, before I can even start adding a skeleton to the interior of this thing, I have to make as much room inside it as possible. Let's open her up:
The interior space is pretty ok, but considering that I'm fitting square pegs in a round hole here, mini ITX is gonna have to be the way to go. Height is about 4.25" (108mm) at the center, and about half that at the edges of the disc area. Time to do some preliminary Dremel work!
 


 
Oh yeah. Now it's practically roomy in there. Room for like, all the computers. I know this is a pretty cursory beginning to the build log, but I wanted to show off the concept. Let me know what aspect of the build you'd like to hear about next and I'll oblige. I'm pretty stoked about my concept for the metal skeleton though. I might cover that soonish.

Hey all, I thought you might find this interesting. I used one of the old EK Predator 'AIO' water coolers to create a hardline custom loop. The predator is at the front with the pump at the bottom, and I have a 360 radiator in the top. The loop is just to cool the CPU as I find myself swapping the GPU far more often than the MOBO and Processor. The only thing custom about the rig is how I set the drain up out the front of the case behind the front panel and the power supply cover. I think it makes for a pretty clean setup. (pardon the messy cables, this was just after putting in new coolant).

I built my first PC over the weekend and just wanted to give a huge shoutout to everyone here. I’ve never owned a PC before and had very little knlowledge going into it but through a bunch of YouTube videos and this forum I gained not only the knowledge but the confidence to build it myself.
