I'm no expert "so large grain of salt here" but it looks like vram artifacting so I'm guessing a vram chip is borked in some way

Gilgam3s1 got a reaction from xAcid9 in Worth buying Radeon VII for a good deal?
As some one who bought this card on the ignorance of the 5700xt and super cards this is what I'll say....no just no. Yes this card is in my rig, yes this card does a good job but only and ONLY once you fine tune the card, iv had to dial in my core clocks, undervotl, power limitations and so forth. In truth if I could do it again for this system I would have gone with the 2070 super as in terms of performance there about the same and you get raytracing even though it's limited in implementation in truth go used by anything to get by then by next year or in 2021 once intel releases there cards, rumor mill is AMD might be launching there raytracing based system cards next year and intels will have a system in place during launch of there's if this is confirmed then the raytrace wars will have begun and then its all about who can do it at the best price to performance.

And my board or bios perhaps wasn't that bad only thing I had to really change was vvdg voltage from auto (don't trust most things at auto right now) and core volts my core volts as that at base was like 1.41 which is gross. Soc was little over 1 out of box and everything else was we'll within margin id say at least fallowing jays advice

Gilgam3s1 got a reaction from SliceT in x470 or x570?
If you don't want pcie gen 4 for the new m.2s companies are releasing ( I beleave OC3d tv tested on gen 3 with close to same speeds *dont quote me on that) other then pcie gen 4, wifi six on most boards( will need wifi 6 router to enable these speeds) and super beefy vrms across all boards at almost high end x470 board prices, go x470....if none of this is a problem pick a x570 there all good for the most part are all good with asrock and gigabyte being most cost effective and feature rich.....atleast on new egg in the states

Gilgam3s1 got a reaction from atal_7 in upgrading my display of my laptop
    Unlikly but possible.....
Upgrading the display of a monitor in a laptop isnt as cut an dry as just taking the old one out and putting a new one in as far as I know.
Assuming there isnt a driver issue with some sort of board attached to the display itsself you will have to find one the exact or very close to same size as the one your taking out, this includes any tolerances for the housing(I.e. screw clearances if any, excess materials in the moldings of the plastics...ect) plus it will need to have matching ribbon/whatever power and mounting hard ware from the removed display. Point is potentially a lot of research and work for trouble shooting. But I am by no means an expert or anything close ,these are just issues that come to mind.
Honestly I see your laptop has an HDMI out with that being the case you could find a good color reproduction monitor online say on the cheap in the 1080p range matching your device and buy that instead that way you could not only have a bigger monitor but it would also be a better quality then something you might just put into the laptop

Gilgam3s1 got a reaction from Pyrium in Radeon VII or RTX 2080
Got the chance to get ether a radeon VII for $685.99 usd or an EVGA rtx 2080 xc gaming for $769.00 usd. Now I have no real use for the ray tracing and I'll be using this 2700x on a 1440p monitor. Just wanted some opinions cause on the one hand the rtx has slightly better perf but the radeon is cheaper and delivers close to the same perf.
