Intel should make GPUs like this.

On a side note, this thing actually works pretty good, you just have to check the fans for rubbing after you install it.

I want to make a custom fan shroud made from duct tape and pink packing tape.

I've done this to another 1070 too, it works really well when the fans are broken.

I've kind of sponaiously ordered a new case today. So here's a short build log!

Here's how it sits right now. All the major components are coming with me to the new case. Only the R6 and it's fans will be sold. Still waiting for the new case to arrive, I opted for the Lian Li O11 Dynamic in white.

For radiator placement, I want it up top like I have now, and use it as exhaust. The cooler is big enough that I don't get much difference when I mount it as an intake anyways, yes I tried. (OC'ed 8086k with stock TIM) Intake is gonna be 3 fans on the side and the bottom will be left empty. I hope this won't starve the GPU for air if I keep it mounted horizontally. The 2080 ROG Strix is kind of a fat card. I suspect it might hit the side panel of the case. becuase of this I might get a vertical GPU mount from Lian Li and mount it that way instead.

Still haven't decided on fans. I think the Corsair RGB fans look way better than most others, and I can get them at work so it's easy access and a good price. My main choice here is 6x SP120 fans. I am also looking at the LL and ML series fans.

Edit: Here's the result so far:

Case swaps are great! I have swapped cases in my main system nearly every 8 months for the past 3 years haha. It's a cheap way to satisfy the urge to build a new system and allows for a whole new aesthetic to a build.

I see no issue with his response. Your last statement however was rather ...well 'rude'.

"No, swiftech has nothing to do with your cleaning solvent. you know your own formula unless you stolen it from the nearby factory. This is not an acceptable answer."

Thats just ...no. You could have said somthing like.

"Im asking you becouse its to do with your Solvent. I want to know if you think your solvent is safe to use with this radiator"

What you said seems rather insulting and demanding tbh.

Spent some time replacing the lower ball joints on the beetle today. One was barely fastened, and the other was completely stuck. I think I'm gonna rebuild the entire suspension before driving this

Thank you so much for helping me find the TDP limit, @unclewebb!

Here's what I've tried right now: Enhanced Turbo at Enabled (x47), short term TDP limit 200W, long term TDP limit 150W and Vcore at Adaptive + offset (- 0.155V). Everything else is auto or default.

Runs pretty good, I must say.

Did anyone read this?  The part about "everything works perfectly".  He just needs to increase the long and short term turbo power limits in the bios.  Instead of the default 95 Watts, if he bumps both of these limits up to say 200 Watts, his 8700K will no longer be throttling at full load.  He has already said that he used Intel XTU to adjust these limits and his CPU ran at full speed.  Now he just needs to adjust these in the bios so he can get rid of XTU which is unreliable.

Intel CPUs use turbo boost to reach their maximum speed.  When overclocking, many motherboards will adjust these limits higher automatically but on some boards, you have to do this manually in the bios.

You need to adjust the Long and Short duration power limits in the bios.  The CPU Current Limit can probably be left on the Auto setting but if you need to, you can increase that one as well.  Too high is never a problem.  Too low will cause the full load throttling that you are seeing.  These settings can be found in the OC - CPU Features section of your bios.

It's gonna be a ratty-looking autocross car if all things go as planned. First, I'll just get it on the road though. It's not been registered since the early eighties.
