The video link has also been climbing to the front page of the /r/bitcoin reddit. (A much better place to ask questions than this, or most other forums )

Mining has never really been "profitable" nor will it be. The incentive structure and dynamic difficulty adjustments ensures it's always a small margin of difference when compared to directly purchasing the coin. At times of hardware advances or market swings the margin between mining price and selling price can increase or decrease, but it will always return to a barely profitable level. A large misconception of being "late" comes from people looking back at the difficulty or price and comparing it to hardware available now either forgetting or being unaware how well the network scales.

The video was very well done, I do have one glaring suggestion. For any coins you wish to hold, do not keep them with coinbase or any other custodial wallet/third party. There are few greater example of sacrificing security for convenience with these types of custodial accounts. There are no banks in bitcoin, if you don't control the private keys, you don't own the bitcoin. Key management can seem like a hassle and a little intimidating at first, but learning proper key management and cold storage techniques is highly recommended and fairly straight forward. Bitcoin is programmable money, you can take your security to a whole new level with multisig, contracts, and NLockTime.

The bitcoin network is not vulnerable to attacks or social engineering, but the third parties you choose to trust are.

It stands for quick return bonus. Basically the faster you finish the wu
the more points you receive. Right now you are only receiving the base
credit for each wu and no bonus points, thus the low point return.
I would make a guess and say that your tpf(time per frame) is most
likely where it should be, meaning your gpu is working just fine.

When you return 10 QRB eligible wu's using the passkey, with a return
rate of atleast (i think it was 80%) you will qualify for the bonus points.

AK0490 reacted to FizzyFantom in Mining still worth it on GPUs?
Mining BTC with a GPU is definitely not worth it. Almost all of the BTC mining is done with ASICs, and GPUs cannot compare in terms of hash power to power consumption. Scrypt ASICs are certainly being used on LTC and DOGE, but mining Scrypt based coins with GPUs is still very possible (just not LTC or DOGE). If you are looking to mine a coin then I suggest you look at coins that use other hashes, such as Cryptonite which uses an M7 hash. A good place to start is the Bitcointalk forums:
    https://bitcointalk.org/
For the most part mining for profit is difficult right now, I suggest you choose a coin you want to support or one that has good prospects for the future. Cryptocurrency is fascinating and goes far deeper than making a bunch of money on dumb luck. Best of luck with whatever you choose to do

There are no ASICs currently available that will make you any kind of profit mining Litecoin. The device you linked is a SHA 256 ASIC and won't  mine Litecoin at all, you would need a scrypt ASIC.

I am doing a research project on Bitcoins for school, and TL;DR, no. It is unprofitable for most setups with most coins. Once the value of coins rise again, then possibly.

It comes down to this, I would rather fold for a team I actually care about then try to make a little pocket change. If I needed the money that bad I wouldn't be doing it in the first place.

You seem to be lacking in common sense and knowledge, please come back when you have some of both.

I recommend you mine something other than SHA-256 or Scrypt because of the introduction of ASIC miners for those algorithms.
Try Groestl, Lyra2, X11-15 or some other easier to mine algo.
You'll cop some flack from some members because they don't understand it and think that "mining" is the only part in the Cryptocurrecny world and that it's completely pointless.
I'm not very experienced with mining atm and I can't tell if you're actually making anything feasible, but you should avoid SHA-256 or Scrypt.

    Edit:
Well, Ima start this edit again because some retard closed Google Chrome on me right at the end...
Anyways, you really should mine a CPU crypto, SHA-256 and Scrypt are now populated by ASICs, which will make your contribution so small.
