unless there is some magic going on during shipment the products should follow the same identical standards when leaving the factory, there wouldnt be a reason to regionize the quality. only reason you would maybe buy it abroad is because of different pricing

    You know the saddest part?
This is an iMac Pro, equipped with workstation grade hardware. So it's made for business customers, people that are gonna earn their living on the device. The way it works with other companies like dell, lenovo etc. Is that they offer NBD service, you request service and they come in next day with needed parts. Because for business customer, what is truely important is being able to continue working, regardless of if warranty is still there or not there or whatever. Cost of downtime often would outscale the costs of paid repair - so regardless of what it takes, you just want your damn computer back and running. You can't be out of business for 30 days so apple can figure out their shit.

"You had a huge overvoltage and your PSU fried? You're gonna pay but sure, we get you up and running ASAP. A piece of metal flew into your screen? You're paying for the screen but sure, we're there with a new one tomorrow." That's what a proper business consumer oriented company should react like.

Based on linus' case, apple is just unable to serve a business customer and they should stop trying to sell "pro" equipment and pretend they can serve pros. Because clearly they can't. With that shit customer service, they can put destroy someone's business.

There's nothing really stopping a CPU from interfacing with PCIe, as long as all of the communication protocols line up. As for if it's been done before, yes. NVIDIA has done it with the Tegra K1 at least:

We could see the advent of phones with two usb-c ports. This way they phone could be a proper dockable "workstation"(i used the term rarher loosly). One port for charging and one for peripherals.

Personally wouldnt mind not having a headphone jack if there were two usb-c ports

Go for choice 2. I dont think the benefits from a 1080ti will outweigh the disadvantages of the i4 procesor. and with choice 2 you have a more balanced loadout which should give you less bottlenecks from the cpu

cooler isnt important with either. the stock intel cooler has a reputation of higher noise pitched noise than the AMD one, though decimal values are more or less identical. you wont be overclocking the 8400 since you cant, and the 1600 can be overclocked using the stock cooler, but expect some heat and noise. just grab a cheap tower cooler for either and you are good to go

pretty much swap out the mobo with an intel one and a 8400 cpu. more or less identical in performance (depending on the game) at the loss of 6 threads in trade for higher clock speed. the 8400 will beat the 1600 out in older titles.

Yeah, I got worried when the one report stated that  AMD was "plowing tons of sponsorship money".... Because, I didn't know they had any. I mean, it got so bad, that if you saw Su walking through a grocery store and picking up a pack of gum, you'd have to question her spending choices...

Looking for a phone for a friend. Budget will be around 4000 Norwegian Kroners or NOK. Can stretch to 5000 or above if it is worth it. The phone should have a long support life, prefferably within the Android One program or similar.

No edge to edge displays, and not go above 6 inches in size. Should have something to grip onto around the edges so there wont be accidental touches like you would have on say the Iphone X or the S8.

Here are some websites that i can order from ill pre-set them to the mobile section:

Preferably from Komplett since they are pretty much the best store

Edit:Had a look at the samsung Galaxy A5. Is it worth it with a sd card, ive heard they have pretty short software support

EDIT 2: it also needs to survive a ludicrous amount lf dirt and other substances like water and oil. Waterproofing would be nice, that is why i mentioned the A5

This is the part that wasn't understood very well.  All things going well generation over generation actual performance should slide down two models i.e. 1x80 > 2x60 or 1x50 > 2x30 etc.

GoldenLag got a reaction from leadeater in (Updated) AMD Navi GPU to Offer GTX 1080 Class Performance at ~$250 Report Claims
Well the X80 has been AMDs high end (highest end card) since polaris, though they aim it at a same pricerange as the GTX 1060. But before polaris it was mid-end. Exactly where to place the 1060 im not entirely shure but its not mid-end due to 1070/ti and 1080 so shure Low end.

Despute this, this discussion should end allready. Does it matter what you call a GPU? I belive my original point was that 1080 performance should at least historically be offered in the xx60 naming and pricerange at the launch of Navi, but i could be misstaken

But it's still a matter of perception and where your baselines are. If your baseline starts at something like an Atom, then the R3 1200 starts looking pretty high end.

If anything, we should really avoid the performance tier monikers. If I can afford $1000 video cards and processors any time I want, then anything lower starts to look like peasant tier.
