This doesn't quite hit the "tech" aspect of the section. Additionally, this seems to be documentary/interview with one side of the story. E2: Even more not news as this is the "victim" himself reporting it.

It has been a while since I have seen LTT review the NVidia Shield, and since then I haven't seen much in the way of streaming locally from your gaming PC to a TV and/or a handheld.

I am trying to cut down on time spent in my office and have been looking to stream to a TV on a different floor or to my phone with a connected controller and headphones. I know Steam Link works for this as well as Moonlight, but I was wondering if, for handheld anyway, getting a Steam Deck or an Asus ROG Ally would improve the experience over an S22 Ultra strapped to an old XBox or PS controller. Does anybody have experience with this? What are some pros and cons of going to a handheld, or is a controller attached smartphone just as good? Am I missing an obvious option?

I am currently using either Steam or the Geforce Experience Shield streaming functionality for connectivity because of how easy they are to use and how most things work immediately with a controller attached, but should I be considering something else?

Would be great to see a detailed video on these options (heck we got 2 videos on the steam cache, this should be easier and a lot more applicable for viewers)

    Thanks!

Oh just what the switch needs something else to slow it down... Not like Denuvo is ever known for causing performance issues in games. Nor is it known for being cracked immediately and doing nothing to stop pirates anyways... Pretty sure I don't even need to post sources for any of those statements...

So, LMG content is rushed, inaccurate and focus more on being "funny" rather than accurate?

I guess there's no news here lol

I ordered one and only got the legs on the first day. I reached out to amazon, who contacted the seller, and they said they ship legs and tabletop seperately to avoid damage. I got a fed ex tracking number and it showed up a day later.

Hope this helps, best bet is to still shoot a message to the seller via amazon asap for documentation.

My go-to recommendations are all the Souls-like Fromsoftware games. They're all great games and the way they make you play will change your approach to games forever. They teach you that failing is okay and that playing more difficult games is ultimately very rewarding. After playing these games, i mostly play every other game on the hardest difficulty. This typically adds more depth to your gaming experience because you have to tinker with different mechanics and think of solutions. Playing games on easy or normal often doesn't even require the user to get familiar with the game mechanics to get through.

    Dark Souls 1 / 2 / 3
    Elden Ring
    Sekiro

I'd advise you to play them in my listed order though. If you play Elden Ring first, you will likely feel different about Dark Souls 1 because you get used to a lot of QOL features that are missing in the earlier games. And Sekiro is the hardest by a long shot. You will need all the practice you can get before diving into that.

Terrorgod got a reaction from GoodBytes in Windows 11 slowdowns?
Gave it a shot for 2 days and had a slowdown an hour after I did the switch and again today so I don't think the fTPM/PTT is the cause here, tho it was a good shot. Gonna read around a bit more as I'm running low on ideas at this point and there's a good chance it might just be the install...

Giving it a shot on my end with disabling the fTPM. Will post an update if I see the slowdown still.

At 3000Mhz RAM speed, memory controller and infinity fabric run at 1500Mhz. CPU z shows the half speed. DDR = double data rate.

RAM speed on AMD ryzen master is infinity fabric speed. DDR4 ram runs twice every cycle, and its true speed is half of what you set it at. Ryzen master isn't lying, and your bios isn't either

Could be that it went deep. Wouldn't be the first time, wouldn't be the last. Listen to the BIOS and what it reports

You know that DDR4 running at 1500MHz means an effective 3000MHz speed, right? My best guess is you are looking at the raw speeds. After applying double data rate DDR logic you end up with 3000

DDR stands for double data rate, that means for each cycle it does two transfers. So when you say ram is running at 3000mhz(effective), it is in fact running at 1500mhz, using double data rate signalling.

So the truth is, it is running at 1500mhz, but performing 3000MT/s(mega-transfers per second).

I did have the NVMe driver from them as it was the only way it would let me get windows on it but the issue has been resolved. That tidbit on ram was it as after i swapped the ports to A2/B2 vs A1/B1 and the numbers are already way better! Thank you so much for your help!

Terrorgod got a reaction from BuzzLookAnAlien in Samsung 970 evo performing weird.
So i recently just built myself a new Ryzen pc and I did kinda cheap out on an Asrock x370 Pro4 motherboard as i wanted two m.2 ports without breaking the bank. I got a 970 evo cheap enough and I couldnt install windows on it at all when i first launched up the computer despite the fact that it appeared in the bios as an option. It would do the installation slower than anything I have seen before and fail no matter what. I then used an 860 evo just to get through this phase and tried cloning to reach a failure after 7 seconds using the samsung cloning software. Later after download the NVMe firmware and samsung magician i got the thing working fairly well but realised it just felt slower than my laptops 960 evo, so i ran crystal disk mark and passmark just to check it out what kind of speeds i was getting and the sequential read and write are faster but everything else is so much slower its kind of a shock. I dont have a screenshot of the 960 evo on me while writing this but here is the 970 evo's crystal disk mark and for passmark it rated the 970 evo at 56th percentile while the 960 evo in my laptop was in the 98th percentile.

My question is this really how the 970 evo performs? Is there some type of setting im missing? (since my 960 installed with ease without the need of any firmwares.)

For your information the laptop the 960 evo is in is a Alienware 17 r3 and both drives in their respective computers have 4x pcie lanes with drivers from the samsung magician tool.
    Both are 500gb models.

To answer your overclocking question, look up safe thermals for your cpu and then use a cpu intensive test (usually benchmark tools) to see how hot yours gets. If your thermals are lower than what is considered a limit on safe than you can try increasing the speeds and see what works best. There is a lot more that goes into the whole process but this should at least give you a basic outline of it.

Terrorgod reacted to Mira Yurizaki in Samsung 960 evo not running full speed
The issue I'm seeing is that NVMe drives are M-keyed. M-keyed M.2 devices should have access to 4 PCIe lanes. I mean, I could chalk this up to Dell not providing all four lanes.

On the other hand, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're not doing something that does rely heavily on storage performance, you're not going to miss out much on the 3200MB/sec Samsung claims the 960 Evo can get to.

Terrorgod reacted to dfsdfgfkjsefoiqzemnd in Samsung 960 evo not running full speed
1700mb/s is the maximum speed for PCIe 3.0 x2.

Seeing as you're working with a laptop and customization hence is not really an option, you can't free up more lanes.  So basically this is as fast as it'll go.
