Ordinarily_Greater got a reaction from Ace McPlane in Need help with first build
it should be compatible, well if you have tried all sata ports do you have another sata power and sata data cable? try those cables if you have
Well it could be a potential bad hard drive because jayz2centz have suffered this too

Ordinarily_Greater got a reaction from Phantonex in Hyper x pulsefire vs rival 110
well that isn't bad too, i would get the G203 for the amazing software and same performance as rival 110
can you find a Logitech G Pro for the same price? if it is available at that price get it instead

I'd say get a new SSD as you don't know how many cycles it's been through. I would suggest getting this SSD:
EDIT: SSD is actually on sale right now

Ordinarily_Greater reacted to Blademaster91 in [UPDATED 2] - Nvidia GPP shows its first victim
The meme-y name calling aside, if this only ends up being a branding change, Nvidia has all the right to more easily differentiate their cards from their competitor that is just riding on those AIB gaming brands. For example go look at a Nvidia and AMD MSI Gaming or Asus Strix card and tell me the difference without seeing the box.
I dunno, call me an Nvidia fanboy but i've been more pissed at AMD's Radeon group for selling all their cards to miners while ignoring the core gaming audience they've always focused on,and their overall terrible marketing department. I was more interested in Vega but they were overpriced and unavailable to normal people.

I think in gonna sell my and card in June because of this. I don't wanna support Nvidia anymore. Im going AMD now.

this guy got 3.7Ghz on that CPU, but overclocking skills and silicon lottery results will vary across the board

Ordinarily_Greater reacted to FlatBrokeRacing in General Intel HEDT Xeon/i7 Discussion
I would take the r9 380 over the 285 just because of VRAM (the 380 4gb > 285 2gb). Performance will be similar. best tip i could give, is bargain hunt an SSD for a boot drive, and find something atleast as decent as a Hyper 212 for CPU cooling, but better yet step into a noctua Nh-d12 or above, even a 120mm AIO if you want to push overclocks. If you can hit 4.3ghz+ on the 6 core xeons you'll be set for quite awhile cpu wise IMHO.
my parts break down in CAD is roughly this (parts pricing is rounded up)
Case $70
Motherboard $125
Cpu $80
Memory $140
PSU $100
SSD $90
Cooler $80
1tb mechanical $60
GTX770 $120
the ssd, psu, hdd, cpu cooler, case are all 'new' purchases for the build. the more you bargain hunt the better. but for what i have invested into it, its a pretty sweet gaming/daily rig and easily holds its own with my Haswell or skylake systems. if you convert the CAD to USD prices, its somewhere in the $500usd range and thats only because i decided to buy some new things as this system will probably be sold off to a friend or local buysell so certain things i just like to have new.

Ordinarily_Greater reacted to Zando_ in General Intel HEDT Xeon/i7 Discussion
I'd agree with @FlatBrokeRacing, go for the card with the most VRAM. I have a 2GB GTX660, and while it seems like it can handle 1080p medium and mebbe some high settings mixed in, it gets nasty stutter, I assume because the VRAM is full (this is in Battlefront, which has pretty fancy textures).

No. Because audiophiles get that there are regular headphones that sound better than gaming headsets for less and can fill the role of casual and competitive.

Ordinarily_Greater got a reaction from redzmegz in GPU vs ram
at least you will want 8GB in this multitasking world
and if you are just Gaming while not leaving chrome tabs open 8GB is enough
For Graphics Card you will need it more after you secure 8GB of RAM. Like what i would recommend is buying used cards (but don't do this right away)

Ordinarily_Greater got a reaction from Mortis Angelus in Do you think Zen+/Zen2 will be able to compete with 8700K single-thread performance?
if it is Zen+ i wouldn't say it will beat that i7-8700K in single threaded performance, but i am sure it is gonna catch that intel chip as single threaded.
And Zen2 will barely beat i7-8700K with it's eyes closed... Well mostly being optimization for AMD

I went with the LTT best budget mATX case. you could fit a 1060 6gb for another 100$. AU didn't get that hard by mining it looks like.

Ordinarily_Greater reacted to GamerDude in Here's Why The Audio Technica ATH-M50X is a Terrible Headphone
In my neck of the woods, I can get a Logitech G933 for about as much as I'd paid for my HD6XX (some places sell the G933 at about 250USD!), even a used HD6XX can be had for a lower price. One enterprising guy is even selling brand new HD6XX's at about 250USD each. Sure, the G933 is all fancy looking and I suppose is great for gaming (IF one's primary concern is gaming) but surely one wants to listen to music at one time or another, this is when gaming headsets suffer that epic fail. Right now, I'm listening to some DSD tracks on my HE4XX/HD6XX + iFi Nano iDSD (all my other audio gear are packed in boxes for the big move) and it's a pretty damn good and satisfying experience.
Edit - I gotta say, this little DAC combo by iFi is really quite powerful, it handles both my HD6XX and HE4XX easily enough with volume knob at 1 o'clock, nice little portable unit like its bigger, much more powerful and newer sibling (iFi Micro iDSD BL)

Things that use human physiology/biology for authentication such as fingerprints or scanning your face/eyes. That sorta thing. So those fingerprint scanners most smartphones have are a form of biometric authentication
Edit: didn't realise this was a topic request as I got to it from the side bar. Just thought you were asking.
