Not sure about your time availability or skills but I know some friends that picked up Captioning jobs online for extra cash in college.

    Doesn't matter, a 17 year old is absolutely not a millennial.  That's gen Z.

Not necessarily, some consider mid 2000s to be the start of gen z. I'm not sure why we are arguing a subjective naming scheme that doesn't mean jackshit. Whatevs though

Some say these generation things after Boomers is all made up gibberish that ultimately doesn't matter and I kind of agree. When people say millennials, they tend to use it to imply overly entitled whiners with sketch Tumblr accounts lmao.

Personally after Advanced Warfare, I was ready for a new cod and didnt care about BOTG or Advanced movements since AW didnt have wallrunning. But after BO3, I'm ready for another boots on the ground game, even though I enjoy playing IW from a competitive perspective as weapon variants turn pubs from more relaxed matches into complete total chaos because someone has that gun that can switch between being an assault rifle and full auto akimbo shotguns with no more than a press of a button. (in case you dont know, Im referring to the epic Type 2 variant... I hate that version with a passion)

I sorta dislike MLG, I prefer ESL. And I didnt even know that CoD had a professional area, even siege's ESL tourneys are bigger than CoD

After Black Ops 3 they went too far. Take it back in time or how about a good ole classic modern day shooter? Why do you think MW2 and Black Ops were so popular? No ones cares about space and jet packs

So it's certainly no surprise that most people here are probably pc gamers and thus probably more into pc esports than that of consoles. Yeah, CoD is available on PC, and yeah the current installment in the CoD franchise is hated by a fair number of people (most of which still play the game anyways, which is just confusing). But with the MLG Atlanta event this weekend, who else watches and do you have any predictions for the event?

Otherwise, just use whatever tool the particular platform recommends.

Then it depends on the platform, but both Android and iOS have their own preferred and best-supported languages.  I believe for Android it's still Java, and for iOS it's Swift, but you should do some research to find out if people who do mobile development have different recommendations.  (I don't do anything mobile, so I'm speaking outside my wheelhouse here)

I still disagree, especially since tab completion and snippets are a thing. In fact, I'd argue that not using an IDE can hurt you as a programmer for the reasons mentioned in Unimportant's post and others. An IDE can tell you how to write code the right way and it can expose you to features of the standard library you might not think to look up, but a text editor like Notepad++ just gives you syntax highlighting.

Nearly every kid starts with an automatic these days in America and it doesn't make them worse at driving. I started with an automatic and later learned to drive a manual and I had the advantage of already knowing how to handle a car once it gets going instead of having to learn everything at once. 30 years from now, kids might grow up with self driving cars.

From what I've found, ppl NOT using a IDE with decent intellisense tend to shy away from long meaningful names because they want to save themselves some type work. That leads to far less readable code. If i have to pick a 20 character variable name to make absolutely clear what it does, I'll do it, because intellisense/auto-complete will handle the work for me.

There's lots of other real world examples like ppl putting code in a scope where it does not belong or don't create as many namespaces as they should, because it makes "stuff hard to find". A decent IDE can look up symbols, even create a nice class overview and whatnot, nullifying this problem...

Don't think you're smart by not using tools. You can claim real farming is pure handwork but only until the farmer using a tractor puts you out of business and buys your lot right from under your feet.

they suggest them because they are good to start off. What language is best will depend on the app.

A web app then htnl, JavaScript, angular, php or node for the back end.

    a windows app c#

    multi platform desktop app java

That's weird, I guess they don't want people to use affiliate links cause they get less money. It's the only reason I use Amazon specifically cause I know LTT gets something more from it
