The Free to try special and discounts are only on the standalone currently. They were on steam a few weeks ago but not for as long and you couldn't use the extra 10% discount.
I think if you did own modules on steam you can link your account to standalone and transfer them that way but you cannot transfer modules purchased on standalone back to steam.
 
The Features of steam and standalone are pretty much the same game-play wise.
Standalone gets more/longer sales and all the money goes to the devs but you have to check for updates by launching the game.
Steam gives you local currency conversion and automated updates with faster downloads.
 
As far as dual throttle control. It depends a lot on what your flying. I use it a bit in the F/A -18C to walk the throttle (tiny increase/decrease alternating left and right) for small speed changes when trying to refuel from a tanker or trying to get extra tight turn circle in the F-14 but it's not really a make or break feature as dual engine planes have the option to bind both engines to 1 axis. As long as you have enough buttons either will work well.

Have you at least tried to use both for a bit? I have experience with both mice (a friend has the Deathadder and the G402 is my daily driver) and can say that they are both good mice. The thumb buttons on the G402 may be troublesome as its very slightly "sharp" - something that was pointed to me very dramatically and was hilariously over exaggerated. But then again, you've got other Razer products lined up already, so...

Its better than leaving them there to squirm, stress and suffer; and way better than throwing them in someone elses yard and making those pests their problem.
 
I'd prefer not to say "Man up", but really...Man the heck up.  They're rodents, not saintly unicorns or something.

Had this bad boy installed today. People around me are more envious about it than they have ever been about my rig  ;-)

You understand that mice reproduce very quickly as well? Its beyond ME that you still kill bugs etc but not pests?

I can't wait until I get to fly on a Dreamliner.

Welp @handymanshandle suggested I start a jetliner or airplane thread, and since there's a fairly active car thread. Perhaps this will get some use?
 
So I guess I'll kick off the thread with what my favorite airplanes are... I generally like Boeing and Airbus. Used to be a big fan of Airbus. Mostly liked the A320 family.
Now it's a toss up between the A320s and 737s...
 
Although now the A310 has peaked an interest along with the MD-11 and MD-80/MD-90s.
 
I've actually never been in or flown in a plane before, although that'll hopefully change next year. Probably my first and second flights will be on American Airlines, either a 737-800 or A321 from Minneapolis Intl to Charlotte-Douglas Int'l then from CLT, I'd probably be on some CRJ to Huntsville. Although just to get a few 717 rides in, I'd probably take Delta a few times down there. Likely a 737-900ER to Atlanta then to HSV on a 717.

What games are you trying to play on this thing? Looks to me you already have a fairly quick gaming PC. Unless you're trying to run games and do work at the same time?

OMG I'm so blind I just found it in the back of my case lol I'll try it and see how many beeps it gives me 

I ordered it so I'll wait for it tor arrive, although it's probably down to the fact I don't have a GPU
