yes that's a very nice upgrade from an AMD FX....AMD has nothing compelling for him right now...and this core i5 chip is unlocked and he will be able to overclock with that board...it will last him a good while and will perform quite a bit better in games...especially with higher-end graphics cards where the old AMD cpu would be a limiting factor.

The Realist got a reaction from Stevoisboss in Upgrade from a fx-6300
The best upgrade for him is the FX 9590 which is not worth it since the core performance is very poor, the TDP is 220w,220 FUCKING WATS,not to mention you can get a FX 8350 overclock it and meet up with the FX 9590 but your PC would be in Nuclear Fusion...the i5 4690K is a great CPU for gaming and a little productivity + it has a upgrade path to a i7 4790K in the future and overclocking it means even better!

exactly...and you need a very high-end AM3+ motherboard to support the FX-9590 without thermal trottling of the VRM assembly/meltdown.

The Realist reacted to i_build_nanosuits in Why does the R9 390 outperform the 290?
the R9 390 is clocked higher out of the box...that's 100% why...it's clocked slightly faster.

(Not trying to be rude or mad) then why did you post your build if we cant change it for better value say to us on the thread "Dont change the mobo because i need that and that..."

The Realist reacted to i_build_nanosuits in r9 380 vr
even that is barely making it though...it will work fine in VR for a little while but by next year i'm sure most VR stuff will make you barf on your desk with that because it will no longer be able to keep up with the new stuff at 90FPS per eyes.
If you're any serious about VR and willing to spend like 800$ for the headset...you should be willing to spend about as much for the graphics solution to power it up IMHO.

False, the human eye can only 3 fps so it does not matter...

The Realist got a reaction from STRMfrmXMN in Recommened PSU for GTX 690?
1.If you plan on putting 2 690's in a micro atx build its not worth it
2.The Heat that the 690's output would be bigger than a r9 290 when they are that close pretty much touching each other
3.If you have a giant cooler the card might not fit very rare but possible
4.The cards would be very close to the PSU so the PSU would just be sucking up hot air

Its ok everybody makes mistakes it not so big of a deal since both are good mobos but really depends what color scheme he wants to go with since they are pretty much same but the color is different, unless he really needs those 2 ports

Depends on the game but in most cases you will get bottlenecking. Assuming the intel dual core isn't a G3258 which is overclocked.

It supports each other but keep in mind this ram is high profile and has a very high heat sink so if you have a large CPU Cooler blocking the ram, either get the ram you want and replace the CPU cooler with a low profile cooler, get lower profile ram but keep the CPU cooler NOTE : THIS IS JUST IF YOU HAVE A LARGE CPU COOLER
