Okay everybody strap in you little duckies.

I have browsed the forums and everybody says "oh Eatx doesn't work in the r5" Now I know not many people will really care about this but for anybody who is still wondering out there. IT WORKS...
I have a Rampage V Extreme in my define r5.Now I had to take out the rubber grommets out. Some people said that the board was too close on the sata solder points.so I put a couple strips of electrical tape where the sata ports and it works fine. and some people said that right angle sata cables won't work, but as you can see they do work

Yeah those electric things are usually sacks of garbage. you can get really small air compressors that are only like 1 or 2 gallon. I would just buy one of those (usually pretty cheap, even cheaper if you buy them on the UK equivalent to craigslist, or just craigslist if it's popular there. I got mine used for $30 and they aren't super loud, and even when they are loud it's only for like 4 minutes so any neighbors shouldn't mind.

If you want my opinion I would go with an air cooler, I use noctua coolers but it's always up to you. They give the same performance to a lot of liquid coolers for (sometimes) cheaper and a lot more reliable.

Looks like a solid build. I have a couple questions. 1) why get a 7700k when the 8700k is out? (you may have a reason for this concerning AU pricing, but there is no reason to buy "old" hardware brand new) and 2) the parts you have picked out are VERY extreme. if you are mostly going to be gamin or streaming your cpu could be fine with an 8600k and a 1070, you could even do some decent content creation. also your ram is very flashy. Lastly it's your money so if you want an overkill system go for it! but for the price of going down to an i5 "k" SKU and a 1070 you could do some really cool stuff, like a custom watercooling loop, fun modding, cool periferials, a good monitor. IMO you have gone overkill but again it's your money. If you have any other questions go ahead and ask them and have fun!

From what I have seen (having never personally owned a VR set) sli can be funky in general with some games. single card is always better than two cards (if they are at equal performance) I mean if you've already bought it I would take the 1070ti, and try to sell the 650's on craigslist or something. Or put those in another system. I also agree with AluminiumTech that you should try and find a 3770k to throw in there just for the heck of it, although no needed at all.

you haven't done enough research, if you think that currency needs to be SOLD, you've got the wrong idea.

It's the same if I have 10 GBP, I don't SELL it to get USD, I convert it to USD. If I were you I would do a lot more research. I am concerned that you have already bought hardware without knowing the key functionality of cryptocurrency. Also it depends on what currency you want to mine.

yes but MY point is that your passwords 'probably' won't be leaked in the first place or be sold to some poor schmuck, and often when companies have leaks like this they don't say that there was a leak until much after the fact. look at yahoo or others, sometimes they waited months to tell you there was a leak.

NotTristan got a reaction from King_of_Oz in What used parts are OK to buy?
I personally build used systems all. the. time. You need to understand you are buying USED components so there is a risk, kind of like a surgery, every surgery has a risk, but are for the most part very helpful. I typically don't like buying used storage (ssd's and hard drives) because you just can't know really anything. I have also found that motherboards are sometimes a little sketchy. Those are just the negatives, but I would say about 9/10 times used parts I buy on craigslist or ebay work. and the few times I have bought a broken part on craigslist I just text them and tell them it doesn't work and they have given me my money back and a couple of them let me keep the part anyway (however this is just dumb luck as some people are dicks.) all in all used parts are an excellent way to build a budget PC.

Whatpulse is a very old, very benign program. Keylogging would imply also storing the *order* of keys, since that really is kind of important if you're trying to siphon data from someone, which is what is implied by a keylogger. Simply knowing how often a key is pressed without knowing anything about the ordering of those presses isn't useful to outside parties.

I used this years ago - so long ago that I had a bit of a nostalgia punch when I saw the post title. I had this running on my windows XP box back in early 2000's, with an Athlon Thunderbird 750mhz cpu and 256MB of ram (later upgraded to 1gb to try to run vista. Bad idea.)

I'm going to have to try to figure out my old username to see if my profile is still up.

I own all noctua products, which is totally overkill but I'm a fanboy so that's how that happened. I would replace the cpu cooler with something from noctua if you can afford it. I know I'm a fanboy but they seriously do have the best air coolers on the market. and second before you start replacing all of your case fans get a program like "speedfan" and customize your fan speeds to quiet them down. If you are thinking about a new case? that depends on what you already have. You can buy some cheap acoustic foam and put it in your computer BUT NOT ON ANYTHING THAT PRODUCES A LOT OF HEAT.

Well, If you like all the flashy rbg and whatnot seems like a wholesome build. If you've got the money and want to spend it go ahead I guess. but I am an avid gamer, I record and edit sound and video for people, and do a lot of image work. I have a 1070 and I have no complaints. You don't need that extreme of a motherboard, you could go with an 8600k, and 32 gb of ram is a lot blah blah blah. It's a fine build but you really don't need that much powerful hardware, and if you are going to be spending that much money, you could cut down on the cpu, and take out the watercooler, and build yourself a custom watercooling loop for not much more money. I know it seems intimidating but it's a lot of fun and not hard at all.

Since both said that the Blade would be their choice, it's on a "first replied first served" basis. (for clarity - what this means is that the first winner to reply will get their choice between the two laptops, and the second winner to reply will get the laptop that the first winner did not choose. This does not mean that we're only giving away one laptop...)

    Thanks everyone.

    EDIT2:

Alright, so @Plavi has officially claimed the New Blade! Congrats on winning
