he didn't cheap out on the psu, the hydro G is a very good quality tier 2 psu in STRMfrmXMN's psu tier list. also, cryorig H7 is a pretty good heatsink. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/CRYORIG/H7_Universal/

I'd try to go 1440p to use the full potential of your GPU. Might have to look for a used one though.

Maybe pick up a cheap/used one until you get the money together for a good 1440p.

Save your money, and pick up a 1440p monitor in a few months.

It won't be maxed out 1440p, but going forward you'll love it.  Plus when new video cards come out in a couple years, that 1440p can be maxed out.

I use the Asus PB278 with my 1070. Plus a monitor is something that will last alot longer than a video card or cpu.
I got nearly 7 years on some of my 1080p panels, so I'd like to get 4-6 out of my 1440p before jumping to 4k.

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/ is your friend for when looking for a monitor. Get the deal on a monitor you may not have been able to afford.

Base total is $1500. I'm assuming that you don't live in the States so the pricing may not translate exactly into your currency...

As for the build, I've kept the case but left out the CPU cooler since the budget doesn't exactly cater enough for it. Besides, the air cooler will do fine.

I've paired it with a 1080p 144Hz monitor but you can go for 1440p 60Hz if you wish:

Stock fan on the CPU is fine, but don't use last gen video cards. Look into an Rx 460.

Muhammad Idan reacted to Gonio in Graphic Cards Choices
Going with the 470 is a better option. But if you can and spend more also look at 480/1060. More cost, but they are excellent 1080p cards.

And 500 W PSU would be even enough to run a 1080 setup.

You can get a used 970 for that price.
A 970 will get double the performance of a RX470

I would get a bigger SSD and as a tradeoff, grab a $65 B150M motherboard.
Also see if you can fit a better GPU. i3 + RX 470 is better than i5 + GTX 950.
