Often hear about workers being made redundant because the company decides to become more automated but this is the first time I've heard about someone making their own job redundant.

I have elderly neighbours on one side so not much noise there. The people on the other side occasionally have parties into the early hours but they give us notice of that. Have heard them going at it a couple of times in the past. The people across the street however are probably the worst. They moved in recently and the first week they had their garage door open with loud music pumping from a speaker system inside. The other week one of them pulled up in the driveway and I could hear the music from their car's sound system clear as day with headphones on from the other side of my house. That went on for an hour.
