  1. @tikkerStrange to hear the hashrate on your 1080 Ti has dropped like that. I still have 5x 1080 Tis and they are all hashing between 47 to 49mhs with Phoenixminer and the ETHpill. 2 of those 5 cards were the original cards that I started mining with at the beginning of 2018, which is the only reason they haven't been replaced already. To answer your question about memory throttle, it's definitely possible. As many are learning on newer gen 3080s and 3090s (myself included), you can easily throttle memory while having great core temps. The only way to know is to find a way to monitor those mem temps or to simply replace the thermal pads and see if hash improves. Either way, good luck man!

Just one of the rigs doing a little bit of work…

Look closer. There's 2 of them in there. 3090 is in my daily PC, but it mines when not gaming.
  3. I know that what I do with regards to mining upsets some people, but regardless of what anyone thinks or feels, the fact is, it is not only profitable, it's extremely profitable. Even when the market is low and supposedly "unprofitable", most of us that have been doing it for years know that we mine for tomorrow's profits, not today's.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

Finally put a rack up to store all the boxes [s…

@Moonzy Glad to see things are going well for you mining wise. I'm having a great time with the market right now myself. @Aereldor You have to look at profitability differently if you plan to kill it in mining. We don't mine for today, but for tomorrow. When Ethereum is low, you simply do not sell it. Hold it until it's worth 2x or 10x as much and then sell. Then your average daily profitability was actually always very profitable.

We needed you in Texas for the past few days. Power outages and winter weather have not been fun. So cold

They're out of stock everywhere by the time I went to look for one

Should've nabbed it around December 😔

Okay Nicehash, I'll play your game.  😂

Oh, hello there Mr. $21,400 Bitcoin.

@PCGuy_5960 Thanks buddy. It's good to see you man.
  9. @Desp567 Only compare your graphics score within the Time Spy benchmark. The overall score is a combination of your graphics and CPU score. Your 3700x will get outpaced by a few CPUs out there so your overall score could be potentially lower. Additionally, your CPU will slightly impact your graphics score within that benchmark as well, so when comparing your graphics score to others, keep in mind that someone else's 3060 Ti may be paired with a CPU with higher single-threaded performance for the graphics portion of the test. Overall, if you compare graphics scores to others, I think you'll find that you're not too far behind. Good luck man!
  10. Any PWM (4pin) fan header will be fine. Just remember that some headers, such as those marked for water pumps, are set to run at 100% all the time on certain boards. I hope that helps.
  11. Just to add to what @HairlessMonkeyBoy already stated, all the fans connected to the hub will run at the same speed commanded by the motherboard for whichever fan header you plug the hub into.

Bought a 3660Ti when I went to the mall earlier…

Congrats man! I pick my 3060 Ti FE up on Wednesday.
  13. @Moonzy You gonna send me that address? If you don't want to, I completely understand. I just wanted to assure you that I wasn't kidding.
  14. I'm guilty of all the above. Man it's good to be back to the LTT community. A lot has changed, while a great deal has remained the same!
  15. Sir, either post or send me your mining address and let me know what you are mining. My wife just set up the Christmas tree, everyone is in a great mood and I like your damn style sir!
  16. Thank you! It's not just profitable, it pretty dang lucrative. That said, I completely understand your point of view, but I'm going to continue. I think that if I could just show you the positive impact it's had on my household, you'd be less upset about it. That said, I completely understand.
  17. Hey bud, do you mind me asking what type of cards your are mining with?
  18. My favorite statements in listings. When I see these comments I generally move on to the next listing. I find that a great deal remain unsold.
  19. The 3060 Ti and the 3070 have the same memory setup and will basically hash identical in the Ethash algo. Memory performance is really all that matters for Ethash with regards to Nvidia GPUs. Now outside of Ethash, it's an entirely different story. Dizzy Mining has been great at providing early hash results on 30 series cards. I'll be picking my 3060 Ti up from Best Buy on Wednesday the 9th. I'll let you know if it differs from Dizzy's results below. Happy hashing gents!
  20. With regards to the Ethash algo, it's exactly the same and probably the very reason the 3060 Ti is going to be a homerun and favorite for miners. On core intensive algos, hash will favor the 3070 due to that Cuda power, but truthfully, algos outside of Ethash haven't been that important lately. They seem to pop up every now and then, make us a little money and then fade into the distance. lol, no doubt man. Would be awesome though!
  21. It is a pretty big power bill indeed. Thankfully, in the United States, the fourth amendment keeps these great internet type tales from actually happening. The probable cause required to obtain a warrant to make sure my mining rigs aren't grow lights, requires a bit more articulation from the requesting agencies other than "he's got a big power bill though". Not sure if you're implying something or just letting us know that stolen power is a bad thing? Personally, I choose to pay for my power usage, but thanks for the heads up.
  22. Yes sir, 83, but I'm still growing. I'll be picking up a 3060 Ti on the 9th from Best Buy and if all goes as I expect, I'm going to grab a rig or 2 worth of them as supply trickles in. Here is a screenshot of my HiveOS which helps me manage all the cards in the basement. The rest are in Windows based PCs. The power consumption shown is OS reported and can be quite a bit off from power measured at that wall. The last time I looked at it, I was somewhere in the area of 41 amps x 240v for the basement hardware. Maybe another 1.5kw on the windows based miners. What kind of battery backup would you recommend? Glad to see your still around and contributing!
