so this one time I was hanging out with my friend who is the manager at a tech shop by where I live and a girl comes in and buys a 2tb hard drive. we let her know that we install hard drives for $1 (the cost of the sata cable we use) and she says "just because I am a woman does not mean I cant work on computers" and leaves in a huff. two days later she comes back in saying that the HDD is not working so we take the computer in to look at it, we open it and the HDD is nowhere to be seen, so we ask her where it is. and it turns out that she scanned it and put the scanned image on her desktop to install the drive. and to top that off she threw away the drive she paid almost $200 for and she wanted us to give her a new one.

edit: (I'm really dumb for not putting this in the first place...)
Why bother with the 380x/960 when you can still have a skylake i5 and a 390...(hell you can get a 6500 and a 390 and still be in budget as that sapphire 390 isn't the cheapest but I sapphire is the EVGA for AMD so...)

"Memory bandwidth is basically the speed of the video RAM. It's measured in gigabytes per second (GB/s). The more memory bandwidth you have, the better."

However this doesn't mean a 256-bit graphics card isn't able to beat or be able to compete against a 512-bit graphics card. Look at some benchmarks between a GTX 970 and R9 390 they're pretty much trading blows but the R9 390 does win majority of the time. This is due to the GPU architectures. You can think of the memory bus as lanes for a traffic the wider the more cars can flow and the memory bandwidth is the speed of the cars going through.

You shouldn't really be reading too much detail into the specs of graphics card, you can if you want to learn more about them but overall you should be giving yourself a budget, what resolution do you game at and do you either want to be able to max out any current game right now or are you willing to sacrifice visual quality for performance (FPS).

I have an FX 8350 and a GTX 970, it works great in all games 1080p 60+ fps, but don't use the nvidia automatic game settings. Is better to understand a bit about game settings and do it yourself
