jonathan13 got a reaction from Ben17 in Cooler Master RGB software not syncing TWO controllers
In my current build, I have two sets of Cooler Master RGB fans (3 fans per pack). This means I am running two Cooler Master RGB "controllers". In the software Cooler Master provides for these fans and controller, it is only recognizing one of the two controllers. I have no way to select the other controller and subsequent fans hooked up to it. When I select a new color and hit apply, it only applies to one of the controllers and it's fans.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I understand what you mean, but does Cooler Master then want me to purchase two kits ($90 a piece), and then also purchase splitters separately to add a second one of their own kits? In addition, if I do that, there is no way to individually control each fan which is one of the selling points of this setup.

The manual is the most lacking piece of informational literature I have ever seen.

For anyone that stumbles upon this post in the future, as of now there is no way to use two controllers at once. Unless you want to run splitters and get rid of individual fan control, it is impossible with the current software. It's a shame Cooler Master F'ed this up. I think it is inexcusable that they will sell you two kits for $180 with no mention of the fact that you cannot control all of those fans. Sad.

I ordered RGB splitters, and now all 8 fans in this build are running off of the ASRock on-board RGB headers on this X370 Taichi board. Works perfectly fine this way, although you do lose individual fan control.

I have done tons of testing on the EVGA 1080 FTW both on air and liquid. On air, my card was able to hit 2114MHz max and usually dropped down to around 2088MHz while gaming. After liquid cooling it, I maxed at 2126MHz and it stayed dead flat without fluctuation at 2114MHz while gaming.

I'm still at the age where I'm not a 'family-man' and coming across buying new parts is much less frequent  but I'm planning my upgrade to X99 quite soon. But I can see myself doing the same kind of thing in a few years

Go for the 1070. It has more RAM and it is more power efficient.

Yeah, unfortunately it won't give me a QHD option.

I have benchmarks already extensively ran in Time Spy, Heaven, Hitman, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valley. I have been benchmarking for like a month now to compare my 1080 stock vs liquid cooled, and will be releasing a how-to and results video very soon. It will be the first video on my YouTube channel. I had to buy a second video card so I could record audio on my desktop while working on my 1080, so I grabbed a 1060 and plan to give it away after the video is live.  I am super excited.

Run any of those benchmarks you can, and if there is anything else you have or decide you want to run and compare, just let me know what it is and I will buy/download it, so we can compare.

Sounds like a plan, I'll get 3DMark on Steam shortly and run those tests. I have R6 and other games as well but not Hitman, I'm waiting until they release all the episodes at once to play that game.

I'll be getting another AMP Extreme for SLI in a month or so from Canada so I can 60fps maxed out on nearly every game with an exception here and there. Good luck with your YouTube channel, link me to the video when done and I'll check it out as well.

I have to agree that the poll would be representative of the trend. People generally have a big case, and usually enough fans to cool the case. So their experience would be positive - while the outliers that use small-factor or have SLI configs - would be unable to prove their case - this being a poll and all

I can completely understand where you are coming from. There is something about overclocking that I love. With that being said, the card you have is not notorious for overclocking well at all. I doubt that you would see much of an increase by using water.

If you do go with water, I would use the Kraken G10 with a Corsair H105 and then just buy copper heatsinks separately for the power delivery.

You will still get decent cooling. Definitely better than air.

Well after much research, I found a post on reddit that says the LED connector is at the far end of the card (yellow circle), and that the other connector is for the fans (blue circle). We will see if this proves true.

I asked the question on the EVGA forums and Jacob hopped right in and answered. It is the blue circle that controls the fans.

This is the last update. Just wanted to share a picture of the completed system. I say completed, but in actuality, I will be swapping out the Asus X99 Deluxe II motherboard for the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon. Unfortunately this new Asus board has quite a few bugs and the performance is lackluster to say the least. Anywho, here she is!!
