Kobolobob got a reaction from Wakou in Upgrading CPU after enabling TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot?
So at least im not the only one wondering this, not a big deal, i just need to remember to disable tpm 2.0 before swapping to a new cpu in the future.

Altough i find it wierd that Linus does not mention this in his videos considering its fairly important, i mean if you did loose or sell off you old cpu before tweaking this would mean you're royally boned right? Unless you're willing to reinstall windows? Or would that be pretty bad aswell?

Not that it would matter, but did you plug the cables back to the same outputs on your video card.
Try this, just hook up the primary monitor, boot into windows, uninstall the graphic driver, and reboot. After rebooting, download and install the latest driver for your video card, install, and reboot. Now all of your icons should be where it belongs on your primary monitor. Next connect your secondary and hope this time the icons doesn't jump to your secondary monitor.
Turn off any virtual desktop if you're running any of them, and forgot to close them off.

Yes you will require the rectangular shapes backplate for AM4 based mounting.

The other day, one of my bosses decided to lecture me as to why expensive HDMI cables are better than inexpensive ones. I just smiled and nodded, because trying to tackle the amount of BS was just too daunting for me

so this one time I was hanging out with my friend who is the manager at a tech shop by where I live and a girl comes in and buys a 2tb hard drive. we let her know that we install hard drives for $1 (the cost of the sata cable we use) and she says "just because I am a woman does not mean I cant work on computers" and leaves in a huff. two days later she comes back in saying that the HDD is not working so we take the computer in to look at it, we open it and the HDD is nowhere to be seen, so we ask her where it is. and it turns out that she scanned it and put the scanned image on her desktop to install the drive. and to top that off she threw away the drive she paid almost $200 for and she wanted us to give her a new one.

I think that it is awesome to see Nick out here answering questions and working with everyone on this forum when some are so easy to criticize. It appears Symless is working hard to make Synergy the solution you all seem to want.  To see a CEO answering tech questions to every day users is not common and I think says a lot about the company and where they are trying to head. I look forward to Synergy 2 getting out of beta and all the great features it will allow us to use in our every day lives.

Kobolobob reacted to Syntaxvgm in How would Linus fire Colton?
He calls Colton into his office at the end of the day
He lays down what parts of the company policy Colton has violated, and this is why he will be letting him go.
There's a decent amount of discussion. Linus tells Colton that despite being fired for misconduct, he will not report it as that and he will still be able to collect EI. Colton appreciates this, and still in the process of being fired feels gratitude for what Linus has done for him.
After wrapping up and saying goodbyes, Colton packs his desk and goes home. There's no security to escort him out, LMG is not that corporate. Still, Linus helps him pack, but he's really watching to make sure he doesn't vandalize or steal anything on the way out and he can't help but feel insulted by the distrust.
Colton goes home, feels down, decides to have some drinks with friends, but no one wants to go because it's a weekday and they all have to go to work in the morning- that's right, they still have jobs. Instead, he gets drunk at home, passing out on the couch at 3am.

At 11am, he wakes up to a call.
"Colton, where are you? I was told you never showed up to work today! If you keep this up, you're fired for real!"

My biggest mistake was letting the store where I bought the components of my previous computer rebuild it because they could not agree that the mobo was dead.
What I got back was a warped case, a poorly installed H70 with one of the fans with a corner sawed off with a blunt saw, the sidefan of the case in a box without the screws, the mobo was not screwed in at all (just hanging from the screws), both graphicscards were dead(probably rough transport) and most important of all the problem I had was still not solved(no POST). Before this the mobo has been sent in for rma 3 times already of which the 3rd time they sent it back to ASUS and they got it back with the instruction to replace it which they didn't yet claimed they did ignoring my arguement it was the same serialnumber and even the remains of the padding of the H70 backplate still on it. After 7 months of having no working gaming rig and dealing with incredible incompetent 'experts' I threatend to sue them in a letter to the CEO I got a new mobo sent the next day. Installed it, problem fixed.... ...exactly what I said to them on day 1 of the problem!
This has thought me to never let any computer store 'expert' or anyone else who I can't verify as being more skilled than me even touch my computer.
Linus, please migrate to The Netherlands :P or even better, clone yourself for every country.

    2. in my realllllly first years (on a year of 12, im now 19), i tried to format the C:/ disk in the os by rightclicking the drive and press format :')
    3. tried to fix a PSU that was still plugged in... 230V hurts and the boss of the computer store was standing next at me and he allmost litterally peed his pants from laughing
    4. i tried to fix a waterloop leak with superglue. didn't work. enough said

-I switched the power input (240V or 120V?) of the PSU for my first build because I was curious. Then I turned it on and POOF.
-Tried to lower the voltage of my underclocked graphics card until it has too little power to drive the card.
-PC crashed and I had to force shut down the PC because I forgot to plug in the reset button into the MB jumper.
-Connect 9V battery to a USB stick to see which one is the one providing power and then I spoiled it since it doesn't support 9V electricity.
-Formatted a memory card on digital camera because I didn't know what "format" meant back then.
    Bad investment:
-My current laptop(Dell XPS 13 2011 with 1st gen i7). Sandy bridge was released and the just solved the motherboard issue back in early 2011 so my friend suggested not to buy it since I'm bringing my laptop to college. I kinda regret it now because it's at least 1 generation older than other laptop and I could've bought the sandy bridge i7 by adding extra $30.
-This is unrelated to PC but I bought a Windows Mobile phone(v6.1 but can be upgraded to 6.5) back in 2009. Worst investment ever. Not much customization. Slow processor that can't cope up with the homescreen IU(or maybe just bad and laggy IU). Android was still in its infancy and I personally think iPhone 3GS was kinda overpriced(in Malaysia).
