Undertow_ got a reaction from joshforester in Watercooled Server Build
Nothing says a Linus DIY build like gross incompetence with a lack of patience and tools to do the job properly.

Does the typing in this video bother anyone else?

Undertow_ got a reaction from idmb in Wave 2.0 Electric Bike Review
Please have Taran do more videos. The way he picks everything apart and really destroys products sometimes is seriously entertaining but still informative.

After all that you only saved $95?
Some things are worth paying for.

Just because it won't have a large impact doesn't make it any less douchey.

Undertow_ got a reaction from MrDynamicMan in Desk and Work space Essentials
I do the same thing for programming work and writing down todo lists and whatnot. Writing it with ink is a much better way to remember things in my opinion.

Undertow_ got a reaction from Bensemus in QLC SSDs Likely Headed To The Desktop, Toshiba Debuts 100TB Monster
Why would they compare a QLC to an HDD to begin with? Also, I can't wait until Linus upgrades all the servers with these things and ends up breaking half of them in the process.

Undertow_ reacted to minutellim in How do I go about making my own server?
For what he's wanting to do, I think this is entirely overkill. If he's just hosting a TS server and a website for his friends, he could get away with an embedded system for next to nothing. It wouldn't be future proof, but I don't think one of the J1900 Celeron solutions would sneeze at it. He'd also be able to run it with all desktop components. I don't think a Xeon and ECC RAM is what you need here.

Yet in terms of price, the 5820k is better. We can all agree on this.

Undertow_ got a reaction from ShadowCaptain in [Another one] Father asks Apple to unlock his deceased child's iPhone
The story is touching, sure, but the reality of it is having secure information is more important than 1 father having a couple more pictures.

Undertow_ got a reaction from MattShnoop in The best phone wallpapers
Here's my current homescreen (normally I hide the notification bar clock, but it's still there for some reason). It's stock Cyanogen 12 with some widgets that I created with free buzzwidget. Icons are called "whicons" in the play store. I can post pretty much my entire mobile wallpaper folder if people are interested
EDIT: I'd like to let people know that i have wallpapers which go better with this theme, but I like to cycle them often.

Undertow_ got a reaction from CM7 in RATE THE PC SPECS ABOVE YOU :)
Haha, yeah I'm waiting for my warranty to void so I can take out my optical drive and put in an SSD (maybe 256 gb). The CPU usually sits at 36 when it's not idling on my bed like it was when I took that screengrab. Nice choice on the GPU and Storage btw.

Nah, not really. I'm still getting well over a day and a half on a single charge with a nearly 2 year old M8. The difference between this and a plain black wallpaper would be half an hour at most.
There will of course be more battery drain when you're looking at the homescreens, but how much time do you spend doing that really? The second you turn off the screen or launch an app, the wallpaper stops using resources.
