So I am looking to buy a Razer Blade Stealth (Refurbished) and I have 2 choices :-
    1) i7 6500u (Skylake) 8gb RAM 128gb SSD  = $750
    2) i5 7200i (kabylake) 8gb RAM 128gb SSD = $750
     Which one to get?

Oh ok then....... I would generally recommend OpenCL instead of Cuda but if you NEED to use Cuda....

For starters, don't use CPUBoss. That site is pretty much useless. Second, the 4790 is not better than a 6700, as far as raw performance is concerned.

But anyway, if it's only 25€ for Skylake and DDR4, I'd say it's well worth getting the 6700 over a 4790. It's not as if you could get a much better GPU with that money anyway.

    TurkarYash got a reaction from Aditya_V in I7 5820k or i7 4790k?
    simple answer
if you only want to game 4790k will perform better than a 5820k
and if you can afford a 5820k why not go for a 6700k
it will kill both of the above in single core performance(gaming)

    You need the software.
Also you need three gpus. An iGPU counts as one, but you still need two more. The iGPU is for the background, and the other two are for each machine.

you can find some used EIZO monitors on ebay or at bhphotovideo
they are supposed to be best at colors
it is difficult to get a used 1440 for under $400 but if u are okay with 1080 and used stuff
    EIZO is great

or else the dell one is great

Probably go for a Xeon E3 CPU, 16GB of any RAM, and the used GPU is probably a good idea.

The VRAM is nice to have, but isn't going to make up for the lack of support from AMD with proper drivers which is the current problem with AMD cards. And in editing you want CUDA. I'm a computer science major, my wife does editing on a professional level. No one who uses their card professionally uses anything but Nvidia.

But, the 390 is a great card. For gaming and playing around with light editing it will suffice.

I am not saying you cannot, I am saying a 750ti is not powerful enough to play on 3840x720 with low settings getting a decent framrate.

His Cpu might not have them. And to answer your question it would work. You probably wont notice a big performance improvement though . But it would be cool.

    A R9 380 is quite a bit faster than a 580

A 590 WILL sound like a leafblower AND produce enough heat to roast a pig with.

No, it's not worth it. SLI isn't supported in all games, it only has 2gb of effective vram (only enough for 1080p) and draws a lot of power. Get an r9 390.

I'd still check the PSU if it's providing proper and stable power to the system. I'd also get the S.M.A.R.T. status of the SSD too.  I'd consult with the manufacturer of the hard drives as I don't particularly like what the S.M.A.R.T. status shows. The guys from the live support should provide you with useful info on how to properly test the drives and tell you if they are good and if your data is at risk or not.   Captain_WD.
