Hey guys, 
 
With inspiration from Luke's Fallout 4 Bomb Shell build, and my own desire to build a smaller computer for my television, I'm considering trying to throw something together inside a older console case. I loved my Playstation 2 as a kid, and it would be fantastic to see one under my TV again. I'm not looking to do any kind of gaming, I just want a machine that can browse the web, stream Netflix or YouTube. I don't think it'd be too difficult to get parts to fit inside a fat case like the Playstation 2, but the only issue that comes to mind is finding a power supply that'll fit and still run the machine.
 
Anyways, what do you guys think? And as always, thanks for the help.

This was a fun thing to come back and check on and it feels good to give back to such a helpful community! I hope we can have something more official one day, but this was fun regardless.

I wish there was a way to pool money together to purchase some really good things to give away! But this will have to do for now. 
 
I'm not exactly spending money out of my pocket since it's all coming from a free gift card I got. But tis the season and I hope with more attention to things like this we can have something legit going before too long! 

What I'd personally do is either buy an intel stock cooler on ebay or somewhere and use that (if not overclocking), or get an AIO liquid cooler as that won't have to be as tight on the CPU to keep from moving around.

Or cooler performance? In this case, however, both cards run at about 70 - 75 degrees Celsius under load so its no big deal. Pick the one you like the look of the most.

Well, yeah. But at least they're constantly fixing and adding new features unlike Windows 7 where they kinda released it and all other updates afterwords were just bugfixes. 

I multitask like a boss, also like I said I'm only using four displays now. I gave one to my sister and the others that I'm not using are in my closet. I actually want more than four monitors but the wiring was a nightmare because I didn't have enough power plugs and long enough display cables. I'm planning on going back to at least six when I get moved into out new house in about a year.

That's a cool idea man. Some things that pop up in my mind:
 
- Since it's only for media streaming you don't need a high end build so maybe you can get a CPU with onboard GPU (i5 2500K or something) Or a very cheap old GPU.
- Maybe store the PSU outside of the box? I don't think there's PSU's that are small enough to fit in a PS2 box. 

I think it sound pretty cool, and tbh I kinda want to do it too now. Lol. In terms of PSU, with a case as thin as a PSU (edit oops: PS2) you're probably going to have to look into server class PSUs, which might require modding/rewiring to get it to work with an ATX standard mobo. Also, if it's only going to be for web/netflix (and chill, giggity giggity goo) then I would look into getting one of those mobos that has an integrated CPU and uses SO-DIMM RAM.

Use windows system restore and restore it a day or so prior to the event, then check her anti-virus system if the virus is still there. I've had trojon viruses before, they're nasty and a pain to get rid of

You should use Malwarebytes to scan for any malware. It's free to use. 

At least she didn't pay them 140 dollars
