My grandmother bought me an MSI A2600 laptop from Staples, it was greeeat for month until the hard drive died, she made me take it in under warrenty, I told her to just let me buy a drive and install it.. Buttt being a stubborn old lady who knows very little about tech I had to bring it in to Staples.. So I didn't get my laptop back for over a year from Staples, and when I did there was massive scratches on the lid, screws floating around behind the screen, my Bluetooth card was gone and to top it all off there was a massive amount of dead pixels in the oled display.. So I got to use my $600 laptop for about 2 months total before i threw it out. Needless to say she apologized and told me I was right in the first place

It says what driver is casing the bluescreen as well.

Downgrade your graphicsdriver and see if that fixes it for starters.

When your parents are living paycheck to paycheck and your 14 you would be surprised at how hard it is to get even $2 for a pop.. Not everyone can justify an "extra $20".. And to be honest it's the same right now, I'm living payday to payday if I choose to spend that $20 on PC parts I have to make sacrifices, do I get the better (insert whatever here) or do I not feed my animals (not an option).. Do I go with out food for 2 days because I chose to spend the extra 20? Or will I just be niccin out cause I'm a smoker and that 20 is equal to 2 packs of smokes, 2 bags of cat food, 2 days worth of meals for my self.. You see not everyone is well off, most people have to make rational and careful decisions on what they spend money on. Trying to justify that " if you can't find $20 " is making you look like an inconsiderate ass. Sure its a tech forum. Tech costs. That doesn't mean people don't weigh the options. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Yes, you can get cancer from wifi, cellular, FM radio, basically any rf emitter. Now there are set limitations for every device specific to the FCC standards. There is a reason why all WiFi routers basically have the same power output / range. WiFi actually runs close the the 2,4ghz frequency of microwaves, so your phone is technically slowly microwave ing you at 2.5 watts. Apparently some kid in Asia last year climbed a cell tower, and stuck his head in front of the transmitter. He basically microwaved himself instantly, with a 30 kw transmitter.

If you have a TON of junk on your computer before, an upgrade will be horrible. If you had a relatively clean OS, then the upgrade should be ok. As someone who built their own computer, you should be prepared to have to re-format your drive and start fresh sometimes. Its the nature of the beast.

You can view installed updates in control panel. If restoring windows removed the updates, they'll show up in the list of updates ready to install.

Wait I'll see if the names pop up now that I'm done restoring.. Maybe they will be in windows update utility

The thread name change was due to a thread merge performed by one of our newer mods, where the newer thread name replaced the older name by accident. I can change it back if someone remembers what the old name used to be.
Other than that, the forum was under a DDoS attack yesterday and the day before, which caused several outages.

Ok, i have a feeling the forum is being hacked, and even threads are being hacked as well. I don't even follow the thread wtf. @techswede, if you get a chance, change it back.

The majority of the forum is under 20.
