OK so my laptop was acting up (windows related processes freezing or hanging, things not loading as quickly as they should ect..) and it turns out it updated it self last night (well this morning) while I slept, when I woke up I started watching some KO videos (most of witch being under 440p) but here's the problem, I went to watch the new office update, it auto played in 720p and was kinda studering, then I switched it to 1080p and it got even worse.. Thinking it may have been some file issue I lurked the comments section for any one having the same issue (hoping they would say something in the comment) but nothing. So I tried updating my drivers.. But they are all up to date. Now I have a short temper.. So what do I do? I restored windows to an earlier date (while swearing like a sailor).. Now problem solved... Video runs perfectly like it did last night before bed... Any one know what would cause this? All my definitions and anti malware are up to date.. I just find it super fucked that my laptop was working fine BEFORE the update, but running like garbage AFTER.. Could this be a ploy to try and get people on WIN 10? By adding shit to updates to slow older pc's/os's down? I mean I'm still rocking WIN 7.. I just don't understand what would cause these issues with a windows update..

Could you please state what the updates were? We can't help you otherwise.

Heyyo,

I doubt it's a ploy like that. Did you check which updates it could be? It could also be YouTube's new player not liking your browser... what web browser do you use? Are you using the HTML5 version of YouTube player or Flash?

No I can't because I was sleeping.. I didn't see what they were. Restored twice, got windows failed to start error, then reset it and it started fine.. Seriously gonna just sell this thing for like 200$ so I can get a CPU for my damn desk top and just be done with this cursed craptop.

OP

This is my experience with Windows update in a nutshell, and people wonder why I never use it... "But you will miss out on performance enhancements" Is that before or after the performance hit? "You are vulnerable to security holes" As long as patch Tuesday is a thing I'm always going to be vulnerable, even you who does install all of the updates. "You want to make sure all of your drivers are all up to date" Why, because they didn't work before? The drivers were fully functional, and Microsoft has no business messing with proprietary drivers(ex: CCC, nvidia, chipsets, 3rd party accessories, etc.).

Ah, I think your problem must be the fact you're running Windows...

*laughs cause I'm a Linux user*

Well, I can't help you then. Try updating again and write down the KB artciles of all the updates.

I just turn auto updates off and decide when to update. I still have to restore my PC like 5 times before I get anywhere.

Never.. Firefox all the way.. Chrome is a resource hog.. And I havnt used internet explorer since about 2001 lol

Edit.. Other than to get drivers and Firefox on a fresh install..

Ok. I saw there was an update for IE11 so that could have been the cause if you used it.
