So you're paying extra money before the game comes out to get some useless shit you'll probably never touch once you open the game... sounds reasonable.

Only time can answer that Personally I'd love to see how DX12 will help out the budget/mainstream gaming area more than the high-end/extreme one

I think DX12 shows many possibilities, but has not proven that it can deliver on any of them. I think it's best to wait and see what happens instead of building a machine based on what we assume DX12 will do.

No! You can play, it is ok... if you like, ok!
The problem is... that is no reason to lock the frame rate to 30 fps on 2015! If you have a good enough machine, you should be able to run it at 60fps. Its good as a consumer to know if the game is locked at 30fps or not.

Ubisoft bitched about rampant piracy, which is causing them to have not much profit in PC market.

Turns out their quarter of sales is PC market.

You're over 2 years late on this one...

Also, this does not prove that piracy is affecting sales. Regardless of whether it is or not, it still does not prove it. All it shows is that a lot of people are pirating this game, there's no proof to show that the people would buy it if they couldn't pirate it.

It wont increase performance in gaming and you could use a 980ti with this system perfectly fine.

    Eh... It's what it is.

I found a niche in the game, so i don't have much of a problem with seeing tons of people be really into it. But i do think it does get a bit over done at times.

Keep in mind, youtube suggests things to you, based on what you've watched in the past, so the more minecraft you watch, the more you see as suggestions. That or it will randomly pull that one time you watched that one youtuber, and now it thinks you need to watch everything of his, even though that was like, actual years ago. You know.

someuser reacted to sqwidee in Should game reviewers have to play through the entire game?
I think if a reviewer has negative impressions when they're only part-way through the game, then it's probably an indicator that the game has actual problems. Just because one's opinion of the story may change if they sink 20 more hours into a game still doesn't excuse the fact that the first 20 hours of story sucked, imo. The entire game should feel engaging and seamless. If I need to play to the end of the game in order to be convinced that the rest of the crap in between wasn't as boring as I thought at first, it's still a design flaw.

re·view·er rəˈvyo͞oər/ noun   a person who writes critical appraisals of books, plays, movies, etc., for publication. synonyms: critic, commentator, judge, observer, pundit, analyst "a restaurant reviewer for the local paper" a person who formally assesses or examines something with a view to changing it if necessary. "a rent reviewer"

In this definition I would say he is considered a reviewer even if he declares 'some' of his videos to be "first impressions". His "WTF is" series, for example I would say is indicative of a review, since he goes over everything from options, hardware specs capability, in depth game mechanics, and minor story elements.

This is all well and good, but we all know how we can end this: stop preordering and only buy the game after multiple reviewers agree it is worthy of your time and money. If you jumped on last week's gmg "deal" for preordering the game, you asked for it. You allowed this to happen. And you enabled other developers to think it is acceptable and they will get a lot of money anyway. If you want things to change, vote with your wallet, because that's the only way they are going to. Nothing scares publishers more than not making their money back. They don't care if people complain later as long as they have cash in their pockets, and right now they have it.

So if you gave them your money without knowing what you were getting, sorry to say it, but suck it up, because this is partly your fault. Maybe next time you'll think twice about paying for something you know nothing about.

Click "Help" in Steam client, then "Steam support" you'll be given the "What can I help you with.." screen select "A purchase" then you'll be given the list of purchases in last 6 months, select the one you want then either "it's not what I expected" or "purchasedd by accident" then next screen will let you request a refund providing the criteria is met.

Not sure how long it takes or anything, I've not actually requested a refund on anything, but that's where the option is.

someuser reacted to werto165 in About those indie games...
Indie games are great, they are not forced by huge companies to alter the game because it doesn't "meet their vision". Indie games can take risks and sometimes they pay off, sometimes they don't. Some of my favourite games of all time are indie: super meat boy, kerbal space program, papers please, FTL. On the topic of this game, it sure looks really nice, however I'm not really into the survival sort of games which it looks like.
