So AMD has finally announced a launch date for Naples, their enterprise CPU line. It's coming in the second quarter; and packed to the brim with new tech.
Given how well Ryzen handles proffesional workloads, and does exceptionally well in Linux; Naples looks set to finally get AMD back into the place where it truly matters.

I believe many people will welcome some healthy competition in the enterprise market; as it usually trickles down to the HEDT, to only further benefit consumers.

I personally cannot wait to see how AMD performs in this market, and it reminds me of the high days of the Operteron. Who knows, they might even be unlocked, and Asus and other motherboard manufactures might grace us with Single Socket boards. Allowing for some whopping custom build workstations.

Coming with 32 physical cores and 64 Logical, if priced correctly, AMD is on to a real winner.

Their "Infinity-Fabric" is there to connect the CPUs, to give a 2x performance increase.

They're also doubling the memory channels to 8 per socket.

While Ryzen is currently limited to 24 Lanes I/O, Naples will be significantly upping that; to 128!

Could you change the title or something? Right now it's really misleading, when I saw it I thought Google was discontinuing the Pixel phone right now and I was like, "WTF?!?" Maybe change it something like, "Pixel 2 Confirmed to be in the Works." Or something else. Right now just by reading the title it sounds like Google is discontinuing the Pixel lineup of phones!

    Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/11143/amd-launch-ryzen-52-more-ipc-eight-cores-for-under-330-preorder-today-on-sale-march-2nd

52% IPC? So by the looks of the benchmarks Ryzen is slightly behind Broadwell ipc, so about Haswell or so. HOWEVER, those prices though! It seems all the leaks were real, and we really are getting an 8 core CPU for $330!!! Ryzen, it seems, is gonna completely shake up the CPU market wit amd pricing 8 core CPUs at 1/3 of the price they used to be!!! Holy crap!!!

The CPU market, it seems, is ready for a HUGE shake up now! What are you guy's thoughts?

EDIT: So I just watched the LTT Ryzen video, and it seems that the cooler these CPUs will ship with comes with RGB! I know some of you will say this is too much, but I think it's a great move. Tests have already shown the wraith is on par with the 212 evo in performance and is just a bit louder, so adding RGB means that for budget (ish) users they might not even need an aftermarket CPU cooler anymore! That's reall neat IMO and only adds to the Ryzen value proposition.

EDIT 2: Thanks to @SCGazelle, I've realized that it seems a lot of AM4 mobos have been listed on Newegg. You can't order them yet, but they are there. Most will be released within a week of March 2nd. The X370 boards seem to start around $160 but most are at least $200, so it's an X99 equivalent, and the B350 boards are priced around z170/z270. You can check the mobos out here.

    EDIT 3:
So some of you have been intrigued by Ryzen 3 and 5 and are wondering when they are launching. Well it turns out that we now have some info on this (I haven't found anything coming directly from AMD but these pics seem to be of the actual event itself so I'm not too sure what to make of it).

Ryzen 3 and 5 Release Date Info

So it looks like we'll be getting Ryzen 5 before H2 of 2017! I'm guessing somewhere around Computex time would be likely but that's neat that it's coming soon!

Ryzen 3 won't be coming until H2 of 2017, though that doesn't surprise me much. AMD stated they would start with targeting the high end before and Ryzen 3 is much more mainstream so that makes sense. So if you're waiting for Ryzen 3, you probably should just buy an Intel CPU now unless you're willing to wait.

    Ryzen 5 1600x Specs Confirmed!

So it looks like the 1600x is very much just a 6 core version of the 1800x. It has the same base and boost though I assume the cache is probably 3/4 that of the 1800x. For most high end ish builders, this will probably be the CPU to get since most likely it will be around $300 and most people don't need 8 cores. Unfortuantely this won't be out for a while but still, this is pretty cool!

EDIT 4: So thanks to @WMGroomAK, it looks like the new "Ryzen Master" overclocking software AMD might bundle with the Ryzen chips is leaked... It looks very similar to Wattman (which isn't a bad thing, mind you), with a nice design and decent options for overclocking. Here's a picture of it.

    Well of course .

But cinebench already gives us a good idea of the approximate performance, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 1800x is basically the equivalent of the 6900k in games.

Speculations are going around the web that Intel might release 2 new cpus in response to AMD's upcoming Ryzen processors. First one, is the Core i7 7740K, this processor is clocked at 4.3GHz, 100MHz higher, than the Core i7 7700K and has a higher TDP of 100w vs 91w TDP on the 7700K. Next up is the Core i5 7640K, where it will have a based clock of 4GHz, compared to the standard 3.8GHz on the 7600K. One unique feature for this i5, is the support of Hyper Thread. No turbo boost clock were mentioned for both processors and for now this is just a rumor.

Be interesting to see how they price that 7640k, as its pretty much an i7 with a tiny bit less cache.

Ridiculous and ignorant comment. You're screwing over PC users by pandering to Microsoft's bad business practices, deceitful marketing, shoddy modern QA, and anti-user OS designs.

Windows Vista to Windows 10 all run on basically the same kernel, and the differences between them, aside from Vista, are less major. A person who is running Windows 7 is already running Windows 10 - just without all the Windows 10 BS. And a person who is running Windows 10 is still running Windows 7, just with a whole lot of BS added on top. Other than the inconvenient crap, they're almost exactly the same OS. Windows 10 just rehashed that same OS, because Microsoft wants a revenue boost - and wants to get people's data through all the spyware that's been put into Windows 10.

And between the two, Windows 7 is less resource-heavy than Windows 10, on my machine (which has both installed).

Calling Windows 7 out of date is like calling the i7 6700K out of date, because the i7 7700K has been released - which is a refresh of the i7 6700K. It is the same situation with Windows 10 vs Windows 7.
