TheDigitalRealm reacted to BlackOutCrisis in Need help picking out a Power Supply
Then why are you commenting on a post where a guy needs genuine help about something you're "Not really intreasted in"........
Edit* and clearly don't know a ton about.

I like the cables on the ax650, but it is a little bit too expensive for me. :P Anything else with similar cables?

That's incorrect. A Corsair cx600m PSU is better than a 1200W PSU by some unknown brand. More Watt's does not equal a superior Power Supply.

Grab a Corsair cx600m, not the best top of the line psu but it is corsair quality and won't fail on you. It also has a single strong 12v rail @46amps. And it has nice cables (for the most part lol) and isn't going to break the bank.

It's quiet. Do you want to know anything else? ;)
There aren't any competitors to it that have it beat anyway, so really, it's the only option for a quiet case. (Unless you want a bigger case (NZXT H630))

TheDigitalRealm reacted to aikoels in need help with a new graphics card
As @TheDigitalRealm said above, I would just save up more and upgrade your system, gaming on a core 2 duo isn't a fun experience. Save up as much as you can and get a nice budget AMD system.

I was going to do a gigabyte Sniper 5 build the same psu, cables and gpu's. I too thought about painting the SP120's green. If you do that, make sure to see the colour with your own eyes at a hardware store first.

You only need a 650W PSU for gtx 660's in SLI. Well ignore what others are saying, because if you're going with SLI, then stick with Nvidia. If you're never going to get more than one card. Get a 7870XT.

Put it this way: You'll notice the higher resolution of the Asus PB278Q 1440p monitor more than you will the 120Hz refresh rate of the Samsung. For you, 1440p will bring a much more noticable difference, and I think, will feel more worth your money in the end.
I'm getting the same monitor on Saturday. :D

TheDigitalRealm got a reaction from AraSarkisyan in Cosmos se Questions
This is a scaled down Cosmos. So the price could be more friendly. Afterall, that's what they're trying to do with this case, hit a different market. I'd expect it to go for around £180.

I'll start a build log as soon as the parts are all present.

I've got a switch 810 sitting on my desk waiting to be built in. I'm going with an RoG black and red theme like you, but I'll be using a Maximus V Extreme and a smaller AX850 PSU, with 2 GTX 780's.

Same. There's no reason for that to change.

Well the 3820's sold. I see your point though. I am hoping that it does perform better, that way it opens up an opportunity to get into socket 2011 fairly cheaply.

At college I'll be running beta simulations of things like cell multiplication, embryonic development and tissue regeneration. I'll still be sticking to my humble video/photo editing routes.

I'm trying to save as much as I can on the system I'm building at the moment (first system build, gaming) to put towards a Haswell-E build next year. That's when Intel are going to release the big guns. 8 core i7's and 12 core Xeons please.
Also: Intel, if they wanted, could have brought 6 core extreme edition performance down to mainstream 4770k type price points by now easily, if they'd wanted. If they weren't bent on making money (they're a business afterall) we seriously could have had 6 core mainstream CPU's for £270 by now.
