The Noctua Industrial fans look amazing IMO: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-case-fan-nff12industrialppc3000pwm

Oh sorry, I thought they were the ones that go up to 3200 RPM, my mistake - Those things get up to like 40 DB or something. But since they do only go to 1150 RPM that's fine, it's the same speed I have mine at and I hardly notice them at all, you can always use something like HW Info to check their current speed if you're not sure.

@LastGreennHorn Don't listen to this guy, im no expert but what he is saying is incorrect.
Windows 7 does not slowly kill itself. Period.
Just choise what one you like better out of 7/8 there's really not much difference for the average user.
Cosair SP fans don't move as much air as a AF fan becasue SP = Static pressure , they are not designed as AF (air flow) fans. Static pressure fans push air through radiators and heatsinks and they're good at it.
Cooler master fans don't die quickly, they're just like any other fan at that price point.

Well if you're buying it for color then fair enough, but make sure you can turn them down because they do make a bit of noise.
However generally Noctua fans are reguarded as better than Crosair, delivering similar performance with much lower noise levels

Windows 7 is also getting an upgrade to win 10
I agree about the fans though, spending that much on fans why aren't you getting Noctua fans?

That is a fine build my friend, however i'd suggest looking at a SSD, maybe not right now but maybe your first upgrade, it really makes a tonne of difference

Toxicable got a reaction from LegacyStijncat in Graphic cards to go with a Dual Core i7?
A GPU is only bottle necked ( in most modern situations) by a program that relies on the CPU, a 970 will not be gigantically bottle necked by it, since it does still have 4 threads. However i'd probably suggest along the lines of a 280/x.

    This is a laptop right?
Well then a Titan X would go with that CPU...
Ok no it wouldn't, but my point is that any GPU can go with any CPU. Bottle necks occur in different places and it's more program dependant,  In this case if he's doing the whole external desktop GPU thing it just depends on your budget and what he wants out of it

Well why do you think it's better for gaming?
144hz allows you to bump up your max FPS to 144, which to some people is noticeable, to others not really at all. Personally i'd suggest going for a 1440p monitor since you get that much more desktop space.

Toxicable got a reaction from BeefHead in Building a WorkStation. Need Suggestion.
Fair enough, I wasn't aware of where you are.
In that case I hope you at least meant that the CPU you choose is the K version.
Also as I said before, the normal V300 SSD Now from Kingston are rather slow compared to the competition.
Also if budget is not a issue then why not import parts?

Toxicable got a reaction from BeefHead in Building a WorkStation. Need Suggestion.
Well for starts on a work station i'd suggest a Xeon processor and possibly some ECC memory to go with it, on top of that a better SSD. Unless things like redundancy aren't a factor for you.

    Edit: I cant spell Xeon

This is what I suggest you do. Spend less on a few parts, and more on others, like GPU. The 760 wont last you very long when you start adding more monitors.
Also the motherboard you suggested before is $50 more than the one I have below for the extra PCIe slot but it dosent look like you'll be going SLI anytime soon so I just went for a single slot board.
And much cheaper RAM but more Storage, 120GB really dosent go far, you'll thank me later.

Dude, there is no such thing as a gaming router, most routers are gonna give you the exact same speeds/latency at a certain price point.
How much bandwidth a household can use at a one time is dependent on your internet plan not router just make sure you get one that's able to do speeds in slight excess of your plan
