7600XT for $400 is a scam... The card is barely worth $300 for the 16GB version. $500 for the 7700XT is also on the higher side but way more reasonable for the performance. How much are the RX 6800 or 6800 XT? RX 6700 XT or 6750 XT are also usually cheaper than 7600 XT while being faster.

So this will use whatever is in the Stream tab which by default will be really bad so you want to change that to HEVC (h.265) preferably with your GPU so for NVIDIA you will choose NVENC h.265 and for AMD there should be something like AMAF h.265. MP4 is just a container it has nothing to do with quality. MP4 has a disadvantage that if your recording gets interrupted for example by random restart or something, the whole file will be corrupted. Something like .MKV should still work until that point though.

I don't know how it's on RDNA3 cards but on RDNA2 cards the fans speed is based on the hotspot temp. On my Sapphire Pulse 6800 XT by default the fans don't spin at all up to 50C by default so at 60C or 70C it makes little sense for them to suddenly go from 0% RPM to like 30-50% RPM if the temp is low enough. You can easily control the fans in the Adrenaline Software as well in the Performance/Tuning tab. I've set mine to never go above 75% RPM as even at 350W it's fine and I hate 0% RPM mode and prefer fans to spin all the time at low RPM as it's inaudible anyways...

Yes, but I experienced it first time this week after the last update. I restarted phone and it seems to be fine now. Pixel 7. I had my physical data SIM work fine but my main eSIM was without any signal until I restarted phone (Tuesday). -
TM5 by 1usmus use the 1usmus_v3 config file and open it in notepad and edit the default 3 or 4 passes and change it to 25 then run it. Let it run trough all 25 passes, there must be no errors.

you need to create a custom resolution in NVIDIA Control Panel then you select that resolution in game settings. You shouldn't need to mess with the Windows settings for resolution at all and should be able to use the full res on Desktop.

Warzone is free and they baked the game into the same client as the MP and SP version of MW. When you go to install it you should be able to pick which version to download and install.

Yeah, you're getting lower GPU score than my 3060ti by almost 2000.

there is more bitrate available to resolutions above 1080p and they also tend to be encoded in VP9 instead of h.264 so you get higher quality even at the same bitrate... so it snowballs into much better quality than 1080p, it's definitely not pointless

Regarding the major XZ vulnerability on Linux.
My Pop!_OS is XZ version is 5.4.1 so I assume that's the safe one. Is that correct?

Only 5.6.0 and 5.6.1 were affected to my knowledge so you should be safe.

Yes, it appears so. My Manjaro install got 5.6.1-2 today, which contains a fix.

What games can I reasonably except to be able to play on steam deck?

Not sure how to even answer this because that will vary wildly from game to game. Obviously if you expect newest/new-ish AAA games to run well then you may be disappointed if that is also the majority of games you plan on playing. There are thousands upon thousands of games on Steam that run really well on the Deck and are fun and still look amazing. Best to look at what kind of games you want to play, just go on YT and search Steam Deck X (X=game you want to play) and see how well it plays. Regarding emulation, I can't comment on that since I never tried emulating anything on SD. I personally play trough older AAA games and indie games and don't really have issues with FPS. -
Rust is very CPU and memory intensive game, you're most likely CPU bound.

I also forgot to mention that I can actually pause/play/skip/rewind the video from the lock screen or the notification bar but just can't get directly into the app. It's really weird and buggy and annoying.

Jerry rigged the system so he can actually do a tax write off on this. It's an exception in his case. He probably also colludes with Linus and destroys these devices in his pool.

It should be at the very least 50% performance upgrade in non-CPU bound scenarios so it's up to you to decide if that's worth it.

Tho I mean technically since they're just a logistics Company they could be transporting Worms as well I guess.

Anyone else has this issue recently with YT app on Android 14 (Pixel 7 in my case)?
I watch YT in the app and then switch to web browse while just listening to the video. Then I want to switch back to YT and it wont let me, neither by clicking on the app icon or by trying to select it from running tasks. Tapping basically does not react at all but all other opened apps work fine.
Only way to fix it is to kill the YT app and start again.
Restarting phone did not help. Haven't tried to reinstall the app yet.

I've been having an issue where Shorts autoplay after watching one. Strange part is, Comments and Share link remain as those for the first Short watched until I physically swipe to another Short.
Also ran into a few cases where the UI was unresponsive until I switch from/back to the YouTube app.
The YouTube app is seriously buggy imo.

1.) Game is extremely CPU intensive and your CPU is quite old and underperforming for this game and depending a lot on where you're located on the map and how many players are there in the vicinity the performance will vary a lot. 2.) Same for the VRAM requirements though I haven't played this on 4GB card but I know this game can sometimes allocate almost entire VRAM regardless if it needs it or not, you may run into some areas where you're actually suffering from the lack of VRAM and have to pool your DRAM as a substitute which on DDR3 will be very slow and impact performance quite a bit more than if you were using more modern platform. I know you mentioned it sometimes run ok... do you always test in the same area on the map at least? The game also tends to run a lot better once more players are eliminated so at the start of the game you may have issues if you land somewhere where there's lots of people and then it can get better towards the end. Or you may be lucky and land somewhere where there's almost nobody and have the impression the game runs a lot better because of that. It's a tricky game to benchmark, comparing with friends systems is not that straightforward.

I'd argue that the i3 12100f is quite a bit better gaming CPU than Ryzen 5 5500 (which due to the lack of cache is more comparable to the Ryzen 5 3600 rather than it's other Zen3 peers). So at minimum I would go for Ryzen 5 5600 if he decides to go AM4 route. But the i3 build is also cheaper so...
