I find builds like this interesting. Unfortunately the used market where I come from is full of scalpers, who have unrealistic expectations about what their stuff is worth...

Imo this is not much of an upgrade, a heavily overclocked will be pretty close. Rather save a bit more and go for a 1080ti if you want an actual "upgrade"

I second this, Lubuntu or Xubuntu would be great.  Just unplug your WIndows drive so that nothing gets written to it. You would then manually select what drive to boot from in bios boot menu, vs from grub

what is the point? The kind of person that would need 36 threads would go for a Xeon? I'd rather see a 10 core with a base clock of a 7700k

Ignore all the negative comments. You don't owe anyone an explanation. 1 question  - Is the PSU 80 Plus Rated? that and adding another 4gb RAM would be a good idea

Anyone who cared to properly research it first knows that it may require a bios update. But at the same time, there isn't(as far as i know) any way to check for sure if a motherboard does have the updated bios or not, unless you contact the store and they're able to find out.

I finally built myself an upgrade from the old Phenom x4 9750 computer I was using.  The build consists almost entirely of used parts with a few re-used parts and a SSD I bought new but had been using in the old rig. Parts and prices as follows

    Case - PowerUp AK-27 Blue
PSU -   COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro RS-650-ACAA-A1 650W ATX that was also used in that build.
Mobo - I used a Dell Optiplex 790 mobo because it was only $18 shipped on eBay.  I was not thinking about all the proprietary connectors and additional items I'd have to purchase that would make this mobo with it's required parts as expensive as a normal $40 mobo.  I had to get the power switch, front panel I/O, case fan, and heatsink/fan from a Dell.
CPU - I got an i5-2400 from eBay for $51 shipped.
Ram - I got 4 2gb sticks of generic ddr3 from eBay for $20 shipped.
GPU - I reused the Radeon HD 6870 I got from craigslist for $40 and had been using in the old rig.
SSD - I got a 240gb Team Group L3 EVO from Newegg for $55 shipped that I had been using in the old rig.
HDD - I reused my old 2tb 5900 rpm drive

How is this enhancing the AMR? .... I have 256GB of NVMe storage on my phone and between stored music & video I use like 90GB... Even downloading all of Suits in 1080p would only use ~60GB.

Storage limitations on phones are really only an issue if you plan on watching lots of video while hiding from Trump in the woods for his 4 year tenure (or until he's impeached).

The Desktop Environment you're using does not utilize a feature which was causing graphical issues on Windows The graphics driver used in Linux Mint's distribution may be more compatible than the one used on Windows Your graphics driver was not up to date on Windows Which graphics card do you have?

There are still people with first gen iPhones? How the hell are they still functioning? How is the battery even lasting?

This is an outdated platform and AT&T is still a business. It cost money to support a platform and if there are 5 people using a million dollar network then why keep it up and lose money? Id like to see the people that complain about this kill off make a valid argument for keeping a network that is a guaranteed money sink.

I dont get why this issue is being blown up so much...Its a 7 year old phone that has been forced to a crawl from software updates, has terrible battery (if its even still running) and has not been supported in years.
