You kept saying the lab team is suffering major growing pain, and had been saying that for quite some time now, as I'm sure many people here know that. You and the lab team are clearly expanding too fast, harming your capability to manage and produce accurate and quality results. You need to "Slow down and think" - Linus.

You mentioned you couldn't retest the Billet Labs cooler because you couldn't test it with all the possible number of pumps and radiators configuration, but no one asked for that. People need you to properly test the cooler with the proper hardware it was designed for, and according to the GN and one of the founder's comments, they sent you all the manual and guides needed to complete the task.
You chose to ignore the guides and ignore its intended purpose, it's like trashing the Prius for it's performance at the race track then doubling down on that because you couldn't possibly test all the scenarios people could drive the Prius.

Also the auctioning of the cooler, according to GN emails with the Billet Labs, they didn't know anything about it until 3 days ago. Now, you provided a vague comment on the subject blaming "miscommunication", that's not selling it, we need details on how this happened and the correct timeline for the events. It's not helping your argument much if you only provided the compensation AFTER the GN video.

The report from GN about the cooler auctioning is one-sided and I it's not fair for you guys when GN publish the piece without contacting LMG for comment first. It's also not fair for Billet Labs when "It also comes across a touch hypocritical when some basic due diligence could have helped clarify much of it" - Linus, with the cooler. You did that many times before with many other products, why not this one?

Beside some rare "Hurr durr, LTT is going DOWN" comments, everyone here knows that "It was a mistake (a bad one, but a mistake) and they're taking care of it", and everyone is yearning for you guys to do better. Immediately using the word "pitchforks" for your most dedicated fans is not helping.

I know you guys are always trying to do the best. Honestly, I'm actually most disappointed by Linus' attitude toward the situation.

I've been watching LTT regularly for 9 years now. I've been noticing the slow declining in quality within the last 12 months and also my lack of interest in watching or finishing newer videos. I couldn't put this lackluster feeling into words, but I knew something wasn't right.

GN video kinda put a lot of my "feeling" into words and with actual examples, many of them. I agree with the majority of the points and the severity of the situation.

I am a proper supporter of LMG team, and I love them. I have Floatplanes subscription, I bought many T-shirts and gears from their store. I like what they're been doing for years (not recently, of course) and I do hope they learn and improve from this situation.

For the angry people, please actually wait to see their response to this and make your decision from there. If this goes bad, I will remove my support for LMG, for now, I'll stay put.

that seems like a usb2 limit, the pi4 will fix that.

probably, but depends on how yoru using raid. If you use something like btrfs, you can change raid levels on the fly.

Something like a pentiume or i3 or althon should be fine for filling 10g for a nas over like smb. It really doesn't need much cpu power to copy files over a 10g link

If your gonna slowly upgrade, id probably just go for it now, and get a desktop with like a i3. Then you can easily add 10g, and it won't use that much more power(about 20-30w on idle if setup right).

Hello, I'm planning to have a NAS for long term storage of large RAW photos and short clips from video games. I want the server to be online 24/7 so the low power Pi 4 is currently the top choice.
The HDD will be a single Seagate Ironwolf 4TB with plan to expand to 4 drives with RAID 5 in the future. The power supply for the hard drive is the AmazonBasic USB 3.1 10-ports hub with 65W powered (20V / 3.25A).
I'm using OpenMediaVault and have successfully tested the NAS with a Pi 3B+ and an SSD.

Can you guys tell me if there's somethings wrong with this setup? Do you have a better recommendation with similar budget?

    Some more questions.

    1. The Pi 3 B+ supports 300Mb/s over ethernet but average sustain transfer speed is around 22MB/s or 176Mb/s which is way lower than what it is capable of, is there something I can do to improve the speed?

    2. When I eventually upgrade to 4 drives in RAID 5, do I have to format everything on the original drive?

    3. I have a plan to use an actual Windows PC as a NAS in the future with 10Gb/s connection. What is the minimum recommended CPU if I want to play video games over NAS?

    Thanks for the help.

You're gonna have to invest into Photoshop.
I've had worse setup than this and a simple contrast increase can solve the problem for mass editing.
If you just take a few pictures, Photoshop has a tool to easily cut out the products, and then you can turn the background to completely white.

Also set your White Balance on the camera to one setting, preferably indoor light, don't put it on Auto White Balance.

-Change LAN IP from dynamic to Static, then reserve the IP of the Xbox.
-Restrict access to the IP of the Xbox so he can still play offline games if he wants to.
Those things are a few clicks away from being done, just google it.

You can log directly in the Modem (not the Router) to check if your Modem has a problem. I don't have information on your Modem but it should be available with a quick search "(Modem model) login". It usually have a log of problem and you only need to worry about the "critical" ones. If there are a lot of problems reported, then it's either Modem or cable problem.
If there's no problem, then it's might be your Router or Adapter.
