With any method make sure that you hold the plug..try to avoid pulling on the wire.  It is better to push the wire forwards..then insert your tool, compress the wings , then pull the wire.

Yes.A light wet sand with a 300 grit sand paper will be enough to "break the paint surface". A primer should be used as well, if you want to see some great vids on paint prep then have a look

I have used Comodo and prefer it to most of the other free scanners.  I currently have Kaspersky and love it, but I also still use Comodo fire wall with Comodo Dragon for the virtual mode it ofers.

Turning V sync on and off may tell you if it GPU related..Try this as a last resort for GPU related coil whine...http://www.overclock.net/t/1094728/possible-fix-for-coil-whine
The cure for the PSU whine will void your warranty and may cause shocks...you do not want to discharge a capacitor with your body..If you feel that you can not live with the whine and you are sure it is from the PSU then either RMA it or sent it into the spare PSU closet and get your self a new one.Good hunting..let us know what you find..

Laptop GPUs fan can't be controlled. This is done on purpose to ensure no overheating which can damage the system. Running super hot for a while, let's say you force the fan at lower speeds, can desolder components or damage them over time, especially in such tight space. We see such issue already with hot GPUs in our desktop. This is to reduce repairing (more like changing the main board of the laptop, which is usually the entire system, which is very costly for the manufacture) laptops. Also, in many laptops, the GPU and CPU heatsink and fan are shared. Meaning you have 1 heasink and 1 fan to cool off your GPU, CPU, and motherboard chipset.

If the fan does not spin up, when the system is hot, that means the thermal sensor on the main board is broken, and should be fix. Contact the manufacture of the laptop for warranty repair.

Well I have spent most of this day installing a wonderful Fathers Day gift from myself and my daughters. It would seem that our local computer store..Canada Computers needed to offer a sale on the Samsung 840 250 GB SSD for a mere $150.00 CDN. It was a snap to install and is now quite happily giving me 500mb/s + sequential reads.I have not yet finished all the program/driver reshuffle, but I can already see a great improvement in load times. I thank you all for your input and have taken some ideas for the next disk swap.

Save some money and get a bigger SSD now. Also windspeeds post is a great idea.

SSD.  It's faster and less prone to failure.  120GB should easily fit all your programs.  Unless you have a metric crapton of programs.  Games on the SSD are really unnecessary, it's just something to do for giggles if you have empty SSD space (it's not like PC games have very long load times).

250GB is rather large for just a boot drive.

get a ssd it is better than a mechanical even if it is 10000 rpm and it is just 250 gb, a 250 gb is not worth buying in my opinion

I would suggest a hybrid drive, you get the best of both for a cheaper price than an ssd. I have one, and they are surprisingly fast. If boot time counts, it boots almost as fast as my vertex 4.

For just a  bit more than 100$ you can get 7200rpm 750gb hybrid drive. http://ncix.com/products/?sku=65149&promoid=1283

I don't think you would regret getting this. I have one for my laptop, but it can be used for a desktop too.

    Hope this helps :)

Single HD 7950 all the way. Get the best single card you can afford (No Crossfire or SLI issues). I just bought an XFX 7950 and, I am extremely happy (4 free games and exellent overclocker).
