Deadlyinx reacted to MrAlbertrocks in Which GTX 1080 to buy??
I have to retract. I own a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW myself, and it runs flawlessly, but after a quick search on amazon reviews, I've noticed a LOT of people have encountered terrible issues with the card. It has by far the largest amount of negative reviews compared to the MSI or ASUS cards. Now don't get me wrong, the card itself is amazing if it works properly, i'm just saying there is a slightly higher risk that you get a defective one. I think EVGA really screwed up this year, and it hurts me because i own one of their cards and they have been a very good company in the past, but my recommendation is to stay away from them until they get their sh*t together.

Very good point above! What will be interesting is to see how much (if at all) the price of the standard GTX 1080 drops. OP has already said that he doesn't want to spend more than necessary...

Get EVGA, they have the best customer support. But really, just get the prettiest one. MSI, EVGA, ASUS, they all look good, you really can't go wrong and the maximum difference you're going to find is 2 fps in SOME games.
And for the people telling you to wait for 1080ti, it depends. The 1080ti is going to cost at least 200$ more than a 1080, so if you're comfortable with that, then wait. If you don't want to spend so much money on a GPU, go with the 1080. People saying that the 1080ti will make the 1080 pointless have no idea what they're talking about, they act like a 200$ difference is negligible.

Deadlyinx reacted to App4that in Which GTX 1080 to buy??
It happened less than 2 months ago, that's not the past. I also had to go through 3 bad graphics cards before finally fighting to get my money back with EVGA blaming my rig. Funny how not using their card fixed the problem. All of this can be proven as well.
I was a huge EVGA fan, loyal. They're not the same company anymore. The longer that takes to get out the more people who go through what I did.

I saw the 1080ti confirmed yesterday but I dont want to wait many months, and I dont want to spend a ton more money, $600 is already pushing it. I would consider downgrading to a 1070 but im hesitant for VR, if it was just 1080/1440 gaming i would buy it for sure.

Deadlyinx reacted to Bloodyvalley in Which Mechanical Keyboard!?!?
K70 (normal LED variant) only has MX Reds I reckon because the MX Blues weren't popular enough. Same thing goes for the RGB variant.
But I would definitely recommend the RGB version, I have it and it's amazing. I have MX Browns as well. K70 RGB is well worth the money (unless you don't care about the LEDs dying in the regular K70).
Think of it. It's the probably the thing you'll use the most (if you're like me). You're always on your computer so therefore it is worth the investment, at least in my opinion.

Doubt it. It kind of all blends in to one big mess at this point.

hi to all. I am new here.
I am thinking to connect my future upgraded pc to a 4k tv by displayport 1.2 or 1.3. can someone suggest me the best quality/price 4k tv with displayport possibly not over 40-45 inch? at the moment I have been able to find only a 50 inch Panasonic but I wish to have a 40 inch to benefit of the higher ppi. thanks (I hope not being off topic)

Deadlyinx got a reaction from AnnoyedShelf in Linus Tech Tips Trouble
idk, the whole internet is just jokes about IE or people saying it sucks, but im used to it and the current version has fixed all the things people still make fun of it for (like being slow). I suppose security is an issue, but i dont go on tht many sketchy sites or download weird shit, im just used to IE. I probs shud switch eventually but i dont see a huge need to bother "making the switch" when its not as bad as people make it out to be.

As the title says, what song are you listening to right now. I tried looking for another thread similar to this and couldn't find one (If there is one I apologize for creating another one).
