Thanks! Got myself a noctua cooler so that's fine.

They're not all the same, different pastes perform better than others. 

Update I bought some thermal grizzly conductonaut liquid metal instead and replaced the old thermal paste on the card which looked pretty dry.
 
Was previously capping out at 83 degrees and I think the highest I've seen so far is around 77 degrees!
Non load temps are 10-15 degrees lower and ramping up the fan speeds under load now reduces temperatures to the high 60s.

Yeah totally, it'll even run Nvidia surround, not very well mind you but it does work.

Ah glad I got it right. That's a low as it'll go without crashing. I've just stepped it down to 4.5gz so I'm lowering from there.
Not quite the performance I was expecting but I suppose the chip must be around 6 years old by now so perhaps that has something to do with it 

The 4 bits of plastic mean the fans are blowing outside the case right? Wish they'd put arrows on these things!

Unfortunately there's not enough room below my radiator for another set of fans, I did consider it though!
The Noctua fans are far better than stock Corsair ones, significantly quieter, now I want to replace all the fans in my case for them!
