Russia has been banning a lot groups and services if they are seen as even a minimal threat to russias control over its people lately. Concerning to see it becoming the USSR again with some peoples lifetimes.

If they was low on money, The bank wouldnt let them take that loan in that bank. so in one way its a good sign because it means that they must have quite a bit of money left.

BTW; someone said this, I do not know how accurate or true it is tho, so dont blame me if its wrong:

Probably most of them, especially independent studios. This is only news because its CIG and people love to flip their shit over any tiny thing mentioned about that company.

I think it's a pretty thin straw to argue that people don't know what star citizen is or what foundry 42 is, or even cloud emporium.   Especially when their is enough information in the OP to work it out even if you didn't.

so much hate this game gets. Probably only because it is crowdfunded. This game will happen, none of you here has to believe in it or even care but it will still happen.

It won't be inaccessible, anything backers buy now can be obtained by anyone later. You don't even have to pay any real money for it then either. It just takes time to get the bigger ships. There's missions for the starters that take place in the safer patrolled area's. Very little chance of getting attacked by pirates etc... Yes of course backers have an advantage but they paid for it, some paid a shitton for it, so they deserve to start a little ahead of the rest dont they?

WRONG, thats just WRONG.... get over it.

1 They are are areas where you are safe from PvP, and they are going to do so that if you are a player that prefver PvE, you will if possible, play with people that also prefer PvE. same with that people that prefer PvP, will come with people that play PvP.

It's already been explained that it's an advance tax rebate (so the bank will get paid back next year when CIG receives their government rebate). Also pointed out is that the IP clause is nothing but a formality.

They got the loan because they are worried about uncertainty in the US/Euro to GBP conversion rate.

Also, note, that the collateral is ONLY for Squadron42, the single player campaign of Star Citizen. Star Citizen itself is explicitly and specifically excluded from the collateral.

I don't know if it's true, but apparently putting IP up as collateral is standard practice in the GameDev industry.

I highly doubt they need the cash upfront. People are blowing this out of proportion like mad. CIG's financial advisers said this was a smart move. It's not like Chris Roberts made this decision on his own while sitting on the toilet.

Agreed - we shouldn't call it just a formality.

But everyone is armchair accounting here, especially the OP, who as we know is Mr. Doom and Gloom about everything.

So far, Star Citizen has shown no signs of crashing or of going out of business. They show behind the scenes work and there is solid, real progress every week. They're working mostly on backend things these days, so the argument "feature creep" and ballooning isn't really a thing. The main features and scope have been locked in for like at least a year - if not longer.

Most of the stuff people are looking forward to (Eg: calling the current alpha bland, etc) must wait until the backend can support them.

If you read (and believe) the statement issued by CIG, the reason they're taking these loans, is because of the uncertainty in conversion ratios of GBP, which is the currency they get their Tax Refunds in.

Sure they could be lying, but why would they? They're incredibly transparent about the state of development, which for a $150m budget AAA sized game, is going steady.

Our government passed a lot of laws that can be considered unconstitutional, but no one gives a damn. Couple a month ago there was a massive countrywide protest, but every news outlets were forbidden to report about it.

The links I gave are all professional sources, and two of them are state-sponsored news outlets. I understand that Russian news doesn't post these things to the same extent that they're covered in the USA. But it's also the same situation in reverse: The USA doesn't post any of the worst dirt on itself, with much of what is reported by RT and other international news sites about the USA never getting mentioned by news outlets in the USA. And many major news outlets in the USA, like CNN, Fox News, Washington Post, New York Times, The Economist are aligned with political parties, and they don't report the crap on their own political parties, though they heap on attack news against their rival political parties.

    Here's a very recent example:

Famed investigative reporter Seymour Hersh wrote an article following his discovery that Trump's national security team advised him there was no evidence that Assad had used sarin gas in Idlib in April, but Trump didn't care and fired Tomahawk missiles on Syria, anyway:

    https://thebrokenelbow.com/2017/06/25/seymour-hersh-on-trumps-syrian-missile-attack/
    https://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article165905578/Trump-s-Red-Line.html

And since the illegal USA attack on Syria in April, highly-decorated MIT weapons expert (including in the fields of chemical weapons, and weapons deployment systems), government adviser, and distinguished contributor to the anti ballistic-missile defense system's design Theodore Postol has debunked the claim that Assad used chemical weapons in a series of analyses:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_Vs2rjE9TdwR2F3NFFVWDExMnc/view
    http://www.unz.com/article/the-nerve-agent-attack-that-did-not-occur/
    http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2017/04/video-evidence-false-claims-made-white-house-intelligence-report-april-11-2017.html
    http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2017/04/addendum-dr-theodore-postols-assessment-white-house-report-syria-chemical-attack.html

So, renowned investigative journalist Seymour Hersh wrote an article showing that Trump and the USA intelligence agencies knew at the time of Trump's Tomahawk missile attack on Syria in April that Assad had not used any chemical weapons... and yet he ordered there to be an attack, anyways. But no USA mainstream news media outlet was willing to publish Seymour Hersh's article, because it invalidated all the hype they've been pushing about Assad using chemical weapons, drumming up support for USA intervention in Syria, and also their demonization efforts of Russia for being allied with Syria. Because Hersh was unable to get his article published by USA news media, he had his article published in German magazine Die Welt, instead.

USA MSM has also barely ushered a peep about Theodore Postol's in-depth analyses that debunk the 'Assad used chemical weapons' claim. Instead, USA MSM just keep mentioning the idea, to trick viewers into having the impression that there actually was a chemical attack, and therefore Assad must be a bad guy and the USA needs to be in Syria to do something about it.

And as the link Prysin posted above also shows, USA MSM regularly reports and hypes false stories as news while fully knowing that it's reporting and hyping false stories. In fact, doing so is their very business.
    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2017/06/okeefe-undercover-bombshell-cnn-producer-admits-trump-russia-story-bullsht-video/

And USA MSM doesn't report all the many times that protesters are arrested while protesting in front of the White House.

    http://wtop.com/local/2017/06/20_arrested_immigration_protest_white_house/slide/1/
    https://www.disabilityscoop.com/2017/05/16/self-advocates-white-house/23708/
    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/25/us/greenpeace-resist-banner-protest-trump.html
    http://www.politicususa.com/2017/04/25/12-arrested-white-house-resistance-protests-trumps-budget.html
    https://www.democracynow.org/2017/3/24/headlines/police_arrest_24_at_healthcare_protest_outside_white_house

And those are just a small number of very recent incidents. Groups of people are constantly being arrested while protesting near the White House - but USA MSM rarely ever mentions any of them.

And another huge instance of USA MSM not reporting dirt on the USA is this: The entire time that USA MSM was hyping up how horrible Russia's Aleppo operation was, with USA MSM continually showing footage of destroyed buildings, and talking about civilian deaths, and everything else... during the same time, the USA's own campaign for Mosul, Iraq was causing more than double the average weekly civilians as Russia's Aleppo campaign... and yet, no MSM media in the USA would even mention Mosul, Iraq. Their entire Aleppo, Syria coverage was a distraction and diversion and hostile propaganda campaign to mislead the USA populace in giving them a false impression of Russia being bad compared to the USA, when the USA was, at the very same time, causing more than double the carnage and civilian slaughter in Mosul, Iraq. And the campaign for Mosul, Iraq has gone on many, many times longer than the campaign for Aleppo, Syria, and to this day, no USA MSM will acknowledge or report on these facts.

So, everything the USA accuses others of doing, it does, itself - and usually to greater extent than anyone it accuses of doing the same things. The accusations and the news media hype in the USA are how it propagandizes to its public, and to the public around the world. So long as the USA keeps accusing others, and getting people to believe the accusations, people are less likely to focus on the same things in the USA.

To test a CPU's bottleneck you're supposed to put as least stress on the GPU as possible.. So they should have used their Titan X(P), and ran at 1080p.

When testing how a CPU affects gaming shouldn't you be running high FPS instead of trying to game at 30fps 4K? I am under the impression that CPUs start being a bottleneck at really high FPS in games like CSGO. Shouldn't those scenarios also be tested?

Fun to see everyone complaining like LTT will give a damn. They still use average FPS as gaming performance metric even when lots of us complaint about that 2-3 years ago.

That video will sell a lot of 7350k and thats all they care. (or Intel care)
