For your fun tech fact of the day: General Motors delivered their first electric vehicle on this day in 1996. The car was called the EV1 and it's battery could only store 17kWh. GM canceled the EV1 program in 2003. They later returned to the electric market with the Volt in 2011. Also on the tech side of things, Micron will be retiring the Crucial brand of RAM and storage. I have bought many Crucial products and they have all held up very well and have been priced reasonably. It is sad to see their departure from the market. It certainly won't help the current shortage. I have a sealed 480gb Crucial drive on my desk. I bought it a month ago for the laptop or one of the EliteDesks. 

As for music, I'm listening to a variety of things today. I started with listening to "The Final Countdown" to get into the mood. I'm now listening to "Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" from Elton's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album. That whole album is solid, but my musical choices are once again being influenced by @autoxbird. Next up on the list is Metallica's Black Album. Solid choice. Now thinking of it, Metallica did a great cover of Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding earlier this year.

Today the team has produced 5,356,251,832 points and an additional 9,786 WUs. Our new amazing event total is 226,223,796,372 points! The team has also folded a total of 532,667 WUs. 12 more people have qualified for the event today! In total, 260 people have qualified for the event so far. That means at least 7,800 days worth of folding has taken place! I love to see it!

Now, let's take a look at the daily ranks one last time. 

On the throne is Stobin. The LTT folding team has never seen anyone perform the way he has. I hate to speculate, but I think it is quite likely he will take the gold. Stobin holds first with 112,561,676,378 points. SAZrocks took a break from folding month last year, but has returned with more power than ever! In 2023 he ended in 92nd with 175,324,977 points. Now, SAZ can produce that many points in a day! SAZ remains in second with 5,867,381,130 points. In third is miker07, the people's champion with 5,730,535,653 points. Justaphf is in fourth with 4,937,206,518 points. Justa is so close to cracking the 5 billion point mark. In fifth is Mxyzptlk, aka "The WU King" with 4,868,364,160 points and 6,605 WUs. lightmaster has decided to keep going at full force 'till the end! He is in sixth with 3,393,293,134 points. Gorgon is in seventh with 2,686,330,348 points. That's just how Gorgon does it. In eighth is Koeger with 2,463,645,724 points and keeping it steady. pyrosrock is in ninth with 2,360,152,618 points and isn't slowing down either. Finally we have our honourable gatekeeper, Chachunka. Today he holds the post with 2,323,336,711 points. He appears to have his eyes set on ninth and has produced 106,808,091 points today.

Just outside of the top ten, @Sequence211 has passed folding veteran @Alex Atkin UK. Sequence211 now holds 13th with 1,826,212,268 points. @TVwazhere has lost another rank today and is now in 47th with 608,954,605 points. @TRexFreak28 has lost -8 ranks today.  It looks like @Oestle doesn't mind! Oestle gained a rank and is now in 62nd with 511,407,845 points. @u7Cappy, @vf1000ride, and @SEAN13018 have also taken advantage of the opportunity. Both @HoldSquat and @bmlzootown have fallen three ranks today. I wonder if these two will reach their goal of climbing to the funny number. @madprofessor207 has climbed a rank to 105th and is still doing that groovy dance. @Len12345 has also gained a rank and is now in 106th with 272,842,102 points. It looks like @Exploding Kitten got spooked and fell to 104th with 274,458,686 points. @Cerasus climbed three ranks to 156th and holds it with 141,551,630 points. @deltacake has climbed three ranks and is now in 204th with 60,112,002 points. Beside deltacake, @ZT_Shunto and @BiotechBen have both gained a rank. Both @Falco2404 and @JosiahT have climbed four tanks ranks today.
 

How about we take a look at some specific sections of the leaderboard? 

Between 215 and 226 there is a ton of movement. It looks more red and green than my Christmas decorations! @mrchokotay is back for his third folding month and now holds 215th with 49,143,751 points. In 216th is @Erisa Firehawk with 48,152,947 points. Maestro of memes, @mememeister has gained a rank and is now in 217th with 47,965,328 points. @Kilrah has fallen a rank today and is now in 218th with 47,876,734 points. 219th is now claimed by @Hippmensch 45,033,867 points. @Scrotz is now in 220th with 43,330,858 points after taking the day off. @heap is still on the climb and is now in 221st with 41,922,548 points. I of course can't forget @bobsfriend12 in 222nd with 41,596,012 points. @Inventor2boy5 manages to keep it steady in 223rd with 41,186,045 points despite all this chaos. Looks like folding veteran @chaozbandit was not about to let that happen. (He's in 170th with 112,913,182 points by the way.) @Spotty has gained a rank today and is now in 224th with 39,991,802 points. @acramernc in now in 225th with 39,939,990 points. That's what happens when you mess around with powerful people like Spotty.  So much action! I've been enjoying covering different sections of the leaderboard. I always wish I had more time to cover everyone's rank changes. 

Unfortunately I have heard a noise in the hall of the dead. One @[Keksdose]'s folding laptop's fans has begun making strange noises. Let's hope this laptop makes a speedy recovery! Let's also hope that @dogwitch's internet can keep steady for these last 24 hours. 

As per typical, the final blog post will not be ready tomorrow. It usually takes a few days to validate final ranks, determine prize winners, send out badges, and of course write the blog. I'm going to be trying something new for the final blog. See you then!
