My first little case mod!

So the rear fan in Apollo (hint hint) has been really loud. So, I took the grill out, and now the fan is near silent. Have a look!

 

This is what it looks like (those cuts are so clean and SEXY!!).

 

Only used a pair of wire cutters. The bandaid was needed since I cut myself on the heatsink of the processor taking it out.

 

What do you think, for my first real case mod?

Nice! Ya removing the restriction will make it much quieter because they sound waves won't hit it

Nope. Cheap wire cutters and my hand (the second pic).

It was TERRIBLE. There was a constant 40 decibel or so woosh. I might find my fan guard though so the cats don't cut themselves when it goes back on the floor (and possibly clean the cuts up more).

ya, a fan guard is all you need, not what case manufacturers put which is like a 1:1 air to metal.

It was out of an old Gateway, which didn't have one. The case also doesn't have any PCI slot covers, and you can't even put anything in the bottom slot (cheap case).
