LAST MINUTE BUYERS PANIC... HELP...

Drummaboy57

You guys get that often? xD

I am embarking on a music build, I chose an Asus-X99 Deluxe for the motherboard, However, I have realized that it only supports 64gb of ram....

YES, I CAN MAX THAT 64GB o' RAM. My projects are very demanding.

Is there a 128gb DRR4 compatible board that I can replace it with for the same quality of components? Or is it better to stick with the Deluxe... I was kinda looking at MSI.

It is also noted that further down the road, I will buy a completely separate system to use in a 2 computer, Master/Slave setup.

Thank you very much!

Current prospected build.

That CPU won't support 128GB of RAM either, you need a Xeon since any RAM at that capacity will be ECC.

The X99-E WS will take 128GB of RAM.

You'd also be better off buying 4x16GB sticks of ECC memory now rather than 8x8GB else you'll be out a lot of money later.

Yes there are non ECC kits. They still aren't supported on the 5820K though

Oh my bad, I thought he had a 5960x, but I think the 5820k supports 16gb modules now

I'm unsure, I'm still on X79.  Every chance the X99 Deluxe could be upgraded to support 128GB RAM. My X79 deluxe was. Though not guaranteed of course.
