[UPDATE 2 - Dec 18]Upcoming EIZO FORIS FS2735 lets you choose a freesync range: 35-90hz OR 56-144hz

TrigrH
Go to solution Solved by TrigrH,

UPDATE NEW:

EIZO support was misinformed and told me the manual was correct (see old update) however the manual was given a B1 revision (pointed out by ChronoZX):

B1 page 21: http://www.eizoglobal.com/support/db/files/manuals/03V25577B1/UM-03V25577B1-EN.pdf

UPDATE (OLD):

Doesn't work at 1440p

IDVfaI.png

Confirmed by Eizo:

I was reading the user manual of the EIZO foris fs2735 here:

http://www.eizoglobal.com/support/db/files/manuals/03V25577A1/UM-03V25577A1-EN.pdf
And on page 21 it says freesync high is not compatible at native resolution 144hz?
Is this correct?
Thanks

This monitor seems soo good i'm considering this and an AMD gpu next. You can even config the display using windows or your phone!

Holy shit! Amazing! I must have this!

If it was perfect, it would have a third mode; 42 to 120hz, but this is probably as close as we're going to get to a fine tunable adaptive sync monitor.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

35 to 90.. I am -game- for that.  Hopefully they give a G-Sync variant too.  Even though the G-Sync covers all ranges.  Eizo has some terrific monitors.  Hopefully they have an ultra-wide in the future.

What do you mean by that, the lowest G-sync has gone on a 120+hz so far is 38hz AFAIK, and that was on a monitor listed to go 40 so YMMV.

G-Sync approaches low refresh rates in a very different way which allows it to have an effective range of 0 Hz - X Hz, X being the monitor's max refresh rate.

Below that 40 FPS mark though things shift. The red line shows how AMD's FreeSync and Adaptive Sync work: the refresh rate stays static at 40 Hz even as the frame rate dips below 40 FPS, to 35 FPS, 30 FPS, etc. G-Sync works differently, doubling the refresh rate and inserting duplicate frames starting at around the 37 FPS mark. This continues until the game frame rate hits 19/20 FPS where a third frame is inserted and the refresh rate is increased again. The result is the dashed line representing the effective experience of G-Sync.

I would choose 36-90 personaly since if I can already have at least 90Hz then having adaptive refresh rate is not as important.

But since I know how expensie EIZO is since I own one my self I must say that I expect this one to go for at least $400 if it is 1080p and IPS

Correction:

Holy cow it is 1440p 144Hz IPS so minimum of $800 it is.

Have you seen the MG279Q? 1440p, 144Hz, IPS and its only ~$500.

Wish Asus had this option with their Freesync monitor.

wish the Asus Freesync monitor was of actual quality. so many reports of it either being DOA, backlight bleed, dead pixels etc in reviews.

I'm going to be getting the Benq 1440p Freesync monitor, 30-144 Hz FS range to boot.

I wonder why they chose to split it up? Maybe it's due to different overdrive profiles or different speeds on the scaler chip, having to do with energy savings.

might as well be 90hz

You didn't mention FreeSync in your original post so why bring it up now?

yeah its gonna be like 1100eur/1500aud/1200usd/800gbp ... but this monitor just may be worth every penny imho. the foris 2434 I am rocking right now since release date is holding up strong even after ~3000hrs of on-screen time. eizo is quality, no fanboism - just facts.

...and it has a VESA mount ~(*o*)~

I once made a post about a new MSI motherboard on OC3D's forum. OC3D then backtracked the source and made a news post about it. Nothing weird about that, but they chose to not only not give me any credit, they also proceded to delete my thread about it. I left their forum pretty much right after.

Meh, so it's another MG279Q now. Oh well, if I wanted that I would have already had one. But at least EIZO's panel is probably better.
