PCPartPickerPro9171787

What is the differnce between the CORSAIR AX760 760W and the CORSAIR CX750M 750W. The CX750M 750W is $75 and the AX760 760W $110 so is the $35 extra dollars justified.

Corsair PSU hate inbound! Just avoid Corsair PSUs please

CX PSU's are complete crap for high-perf builds.  If anything get the AX PSU, but I'd recommend an EVGA G2 PSU

If CX PSU's suck, why do they get the same 4/5 reviews that EVGA gets on New Egg?

Because user reviews mean literally nothing. They didn't review the quality of the internals or the warranty or the electrical holdup of the thing. They just got it in a box a day ago and liked the way it smelled.

The AX is miles and miles ahead of the CX however you can do better. EVGAs G2 is great.

One of the PSU people showed up. You should listen to them. It might save you from frying your computer

Or you know they plugged stuff in and it turned on. Just because it works now doesn't mean it'll work tomorrow...or the day after...you get the point

The Corsair AX760 is an 80+ Platinum model manufactured by SeaSonic (an XP2 model to be specific). This is one of the very best power supplies made by one of the best PSU manufacturers (if not the best by themselves).

The EVGA G2 series are 80+ Gold models manufactured by Superflower (their Leadex models). These are very good, but their own P2 models are better.

Normally people recommend the G2 units because they're cheaper than a lot of the competition.

Currently on Newegg the AX 760 is $109.99 after rebate, whereas the EVGA G2 is $124.99 (no rebates available) - at this price point it is NOT the better choice. At all.

People commonly recommend PSUs blindly - and this is a good example.

If you're looking to save some money but want to buy a good unit I would recommend the EVGA 750 B2 model instead: it's $59.99 after rebate and is more than enough for your build. It's also by a massive margin the better price to performance option at $65 cheaper (less than half the price of the G2).

Check Jonnyguru's review of the unit here - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=393

You don't need a 750W psu for that build. You could run that off a good 550W unit.

Also you are better off getting a single 250GB SSD as it works out cheaper and you get an extra 10GB storage.

a lot of the User reviews i see for the thing are just people going like "LEL CORSAIR, LOW PRICE, TOP BRAND,GR8 3.5/4" before even installing the damn thing.

Go AX if thats your only two choices :3. but if corsair why not the RMi?
