Star Wars Battlefront Beta,How it runs! (my benchmark :] )

sgtcool

I did a benchmark for Battlefront yesterday, and i must say is very good optimized, im using the latest 358.50 Nvidia driver

specs : GIGABYTE GTX 770 2GB

                        i5 4690K

                        8GB corsair Vengeance Pro 2133Mhz

This should give you an idea what you can expect from: GTX, 970s / 960s / 760s etc...

i recommend using FXAA and lowering post process to get rid of the dips into 50s

or keep that and decrease effect quality

:]

My 970 paired with a 4460 runs it maxed out at 1080p, usually hovers around 72FPS never goes below 61FPS. CPU load is at 65% and GPU load is at 98%. Uses 6.5GB of system memory and 2.5GB of video memory.

I'm surprised EA did a good job on optimization and its at a beta

Just the heavy demanding effects on frostbite drop the game below 60, same in battlefield especially houses blowing up right into your face

They normally do a good job at graphical optimization, they are not Ubisoft.

But they have at times screwed up other aspects such as server side stuff and other multiplayer issues. Hopefully this is a smooth launch.

This game runs smoother on SLI than 90% of games that are already released..

I never drop below 70fps, and that's during demanding scenes.
Generally I've been staying arund 80-85fps at 1440p ultra..

Higher frame rate over higher resolution.

Great to see another AMD Gaming Evolved title and all the Nvidia users so happy with smooth gameplay and good graphics. The way PC gaming should be! About choice.

Looking good, I get around 45-60fps at 4K Ultra settings. It's definately playable. They did a good job with the beta.

Heres my gameplay/bechmark.

That map looks really good even watching on my 1080p monitor here.

Question- your FOV seems too high, unless your monitor is really close to your face.

Or do you keep it that way for an edge in multiplayer?

edit- I guess on a very large monitor it may be ok.

I love high FOV. Also I game on a 27" 4K monitor and sit about 14"~ inches away from the screen.

i think because of me you just got 69 views on that video lol

Ok that makes sense then.

My monitor is 23" and my eyes are ~24" away from the screen. So your video created a fish bowl effect for me.

One misconception many PC gamers have is that higher FOV = better.

In reality there is a correct FOV for every setup depending on distance and screen size. Going below or above that can make you sick.

The screen should be like a natural window onto the game world. e.g. when you come closer to a window your FOV of the outside world increases. So console gamers from the couch having a smaller FOV is correct for their setup. The problem is when devs port it to PC without increasing FOV or giving a slider (knowing that we are closer to our screens).
