Noctua vs BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 (140mm/120mm)

Revan654

For case fans. Which one has the best airflow and also has quiet operation. Been going back and fourth on these two fans. At this point I care less about the color and more about keeping my case cool.

Layout:

two 140mm Rear

two 140mm bottom fans

two 120mm over the Harddrive cage

two 140mm for Intake.

One top 140mm fan (it will be next to AIO)

I want to run the fans at around 900 to 1000 RPM.

Current Build: Project Frost
Gaming Rig Build: Project Ice Dragon

What case do you have that supports 2 140mm fans at the back?

I think noctua may be just a percent better but I would still go with be quiet

Longboarders/ skaters message me!

I hate the noctua colors, and they still haven't fixed that yet. Linus was supposed to release some of their fans, not sure how that is going. For now, Be Quiet fans are amazing and worth the purchase.

Thanks, I was a bit worried when someone told me they have poor airflow.

They won't have as much airflow as a high-rpm fan designed for airflow since they are designed to be quiet, but they do move a considerable amount of air for the speed/noise.

I'm going with more fans at low RPM rather then fewer fans at higher RPM. In the end airflow should be close.

Silent Wings 2's have great airflow to noise. NF-A14's have a bit more static pressure.

Both are among the best of the best and you can't go wrong with either.

For 120mm fans, NF-S12A's have little static pressure but deliver great airflow to noise and are my favorite fans if you want to go all Noctua.

900-1000rpm is pretty high though. With so many fans, I'd be running them near 100rpm unless you're running a lot of hot components.
