Planning on water cooling!

Hey guys, so i am hoping to get a job soon, and apparently (my friend already works there) i can earn up to $25 on public holidays and on sundays per hour!! I am going to buy a plethera of items for both my PC and motorbike.

Anyway, i was planning on water cooling my PC. And no, i'm not going to water cool my i5 4670 and gtx 770 2gb. I am going to upgrade to a K series CPU and hopefully a GTX 980 or an AMD card or any other high end Nvidia/AMD card. Anyway, i was wondering if you guys could help. I am hoping i'll have around $300ish AUD at the time of doing this, but the cheaper you could make it without sacrifcing quality would be better. For colours such as dye and or tubing yellow please.

More info about my PC and whether it'll be compatible:

I have an RM850 PSU.

Carbie Air 540 case

MSI Mpower max z87 mobo.

Will the case and PSU be able to handle/have enough room for a loop?

Was hoping to have the pump where the PSU is in my case.

~Elias

the best way to save is probably to buy a kit like this https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-kit-l240-1

and theres always the option to do the ghetto cooling shown in scrapyard war 2 :P

Thanks! Do you know anything about 2 in 1 resv. and pump's? Is this a better option than having the 2 sperate?

Also just a question, would you know the best size rad for a loop that is just cooling the CPU and GPU? Would a 360mm rad be over kill? I has my eye on this http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_160_297_922&products_id=18730 or the 240mm version.

360mm would be good, generally speaking you want 120mm of rad per component in the system minimum, so you'd have 180mm per component more or less, so you'd have a bit of breathing room.  I personally went a bit over kill and have 360 + 240 for CPU and GPU so I can run my fans at a lower speed for quieter operation.

Ah ok so 360 for both CPU and GPU will be good enough? I was going to go for a 240 as it's cheaper but i want optimal cooling so i might go with a 360. Did you buy your own parts or did you buy a watercooling kit?

The price difference between and 360 & 240 are pretty negligible (my 240 was around $50 and my 360 was around $60).  Yea I picked out all my parts, as I wanted very specific pieces.  But a kit can be a good starting point.

it does make the build easier and takes less space in general

you can also check out the 5.25inch bay 2in1 pump res combo if you dont have much room in your case

usually the amount of radiator space can be calculated by (the number of CPUs + the number of GPUs + 1) * 120mm

so 360mm would be perfect in your case if your case supports it
