Anyone else dreading tomorrow?

I look after small business networks and i bet some of its users who "think" they know what they are doing.... Have reserved Windows 10 and i am going to get an influx of calls tomorrow of problems :(

 

(I know removing their admin rights would of been a good idea, but when you have the ceo of a company demanding that he has admin rights and your easily replaceable to him, you tend to do as they ask)

 

Anyone else worried?

Sadly enough yes. I'm going to be getting a lot, and a lot of calls tomorrow and over the next month or so of people who want to "upgrade" their os and are incompetent enough to do it themselves. There's nothing I love more than sitting infront of a windows update screen for 3 hours at a time.

We're supposedly migrating to Win 10 and Office 365 this week (although I doubt they'll be able to migrate all of us at once in a very short time frame so our productivity doesn't go down the drain). Ofc they'll be rushing to do so and we might end up with unusable computers for a while (IT department is basically 3 people serving over a thousand people, and they're basically retarded).

 

Actually looking forward to not being able to work due to dubs and compatibility issues :D

Actually yeah, debating if I want to just have my grandma stay on 8.1 and reinstall it, or upgrade her to windows 10... Her current install is so messed up... Can't uninstall anything, malwarebytes freezes for 10-20 seconds then finishes way quicker than it should, like 10 seconds, then any other antivirus won't open, best of all, task manager force closes when you click on the processes tab....

Give her Ubuntu. Did it with mine, she couldn't be happier. And the compooter couldn't be happier either, it's ten years old and still going strong

If I show her windows 7, she has no clue whatsoever what to do, and plus she's probably the most stubborn person I've ever known...

Why would someone want rights to something, if they don't need it? That's just asking to be held accountable if something bad happens.

What you do is create her as a local user, not an admin user. Restrict her from installing anything, and have Malware Bytes installed, accompanied with an anti-virus.

That way they can't download and install some random software, as they need admin approval. Of course, there are exploits, but keep it updated and hope for the best.
