1650€ Build for a friend

alright so another friend I'm helping

he is from Germany, his budget is 1650€ with a keyboard and monitor

Monitor is the BenQ RL2455HM

the keyboard, he really wants the razer blackwidow chroma but I don't know, its a bit expensive

he said if there's another keyboard and is nice he can think about it

he is an editor as well as a gamer, so an i7 is a must

here's my pcpartpicker so far without the keyboard cause I'm still deciding

he also wants a 2TB HDD, but I told him he can get another one in the future.

Would have made a couple of changes, but no 980 TI in Germany yet, unless he's doing major OC'ing, no need for an aftermarket cooler.

There was also no case, so I threw one in there as well.

thank you very much, reason behind not having a case is because he already has a case, so we don't need to get another one to save money, which means we can get an aftermarket cooler :P

Hey Fictionvl,

The amount of RAM is a bit overkill as I think the build would be fine with just 8GB or 16GB and upgraded if needed later on.
Also I'd consider getting larger WD Green drive for more storage space for the less-demanding applications (you already have the SSD for the more-demanding things). Here's a link to WD Green: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=xoHzfc
I'd also consider a more powerful PSU as you'd have the option to add another GPU down the road and do some OCing on the CPU and GPUs.
Everything else seems fine. :)

I did and it's better to push those funds towards better CPU, GPU and get 16ish GB and be able to upgrade if needed than get them now and have a bit lower end GPU/CPU :)

Yes, I know it utilizes all the memory it has with 64-bit OSs and OP can even go with 64GB of RAM. The idea is if they will be better off with that GPU and 32GB memory or a better GPU and less memory for now and add more down the road. :)

Hello! thanks for posting this

he will stick to 1080p for a while since he's getting that monitor, and I think a 4790k and a 970 would be a good combo without losing the 16 gigs of ram, he really uses a lot of after effects, and multi tasks with other video editing softwares, so I think the 32 gigs would be a must, I will consider the PSU and the HDD!

once again, thanks for the post!
