Should i?

xnoobftw

Should i get a back plate for my 290x?

Other than aesthetics what does a backplate do? :o

And would my rig look nicer with a backplate too?

This is the only backplate i can get my hands on : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H3IXUA4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3GO5VFCNOM5I7

(It's flipping expensive for a slab of metal TBH D:)

the only real reason to get a backplate is because they are beautiful. some say that they can reduce sag, but there are cheaper ways to do that (fishing line anyone? I can't be the only one)

They're used mainly for looks, but do have the additional function of providing extra retention support to prevent sagging. While there are other ways to prevent sag, they're not very elegant compared to a backplate and can rightfully be considered ghetto.
