Check the reviews on the flash drive, nothing but "DOA" and "Failed after first use".  Amazon has it listed for $2 cheaper (has been for a week or more) and free shipping if you have prime, I have been contemplating buying one but I don't really "need" it.

I have a 128gb PNY flash drive, no issues whatsoever.

 

I have the USB 3.0 version, not sure which one you're talking about because the deal is over

Hmmm. I got that same flash right plugged into my router for some network storage and it almost filled and it works great... Funny..

That was the one, the recent reviews are horrible and I bet Newegg is just trying to dump their stock on people who wont return because it was a freebie.  I have no experience with it personally but I was interested in the deal until I could get it cheaper on Amazon since the flash drive seems to be junk anyways.

I have that flash drive... it works great I have it as a photo backup for some important thing (so important, I have em on Google Drive, Portable HDD, and pny Flash Drive), No problems thus far had it a while.

yeah i have it and it worked like 2 times, had issues with an xp machine, figured it was xp, went to use it and the machines see it, but nothing there.  lets see if i hear back from pny about it,  looking at the reviews it really went to hell  in the last month

free is free... and $5 cheaper on amazon doesn't phase me if i can get a free product on newegg.. even if it works or not, which majority of people on this post seem to have no problems with

Just wanted to make people aware that is all, you can make whatever decision is right for you.  For me getting a flash drive that will end up in the garbage is worse than spending $2 less plus with my Amazon CC I get 3% back as points so that is another $5 off.
