Question about predator-x cube airflow

Go to solution Solved by Dzzope,

Obviously you don't want to trap any heat in the case.. but unless the components have a steady stream of air flowing around and through them, your not doing anything

Think of it like this, a car engine gets very hot... but they don't have vents on the top of the bonnet... Just 1 fan pushing air through the radiator.. thats all... Cooling in the right place beats all.

I bought a new case the predator-x cube while having a Ninja 3 Rev. B

CPU cooler.Would it possible to make enough airflow using 4 intakes fans

(2 from front and 2 from back having passive airflow on top)

for the cpu cooler to be passive cooled? I am talking about these

fans Grand flex PWM

Thank you for any response ( of course fan filters will be placed on back)

Dear god my eyes.. the only thing worse than that case is the site design...

But i like it , it is very spacious and has lots of features .

It may not be Mona Lisa of cases but it is very good .

However my question remains would it be possible?

Why would you want to even try... you would have to run the case like a wind tunnel to make that work under any significant workload and not get thermal throttled..

Just run the fan it comes with at low RPM if your worried about noise.

I dont care for noise i love noise .

Besides the fan that i linked reaches

34.5 dBA so you think i care about noise?

If i could i would buy Delta fans

no.

do 2 front intake,

2 rear exhaust

Why?More intakes more postive pressure

thus the build up air will be naturally leave from

top since it is the only escape and heat moves upwards

thus in theory having an excellent airflow system

No.

You want directed airflow.

No.

You want directed airflow.

But it will be direct upwards. What if i put a 200mm on the top ?

No.

You need it directed at components.

And the fans would be against each other.

You want direct airflow, front to back.

You want direct airflow, front to back.

Both fans will face each other thus creating an upward stream of air

and they also hit all the components and because the air cant

escape elsewere it will move upwards were is the only exit

That is wrong.

You can test it yourself, 2 intake in front and rear exhaust will have better temps that front ant rear intake and top exhuast.

Trust me.

WHy science fails? Is not heat always moving upwards?

I really don't get the point in passively cooling the cpu cooler if you don't give a shit about noise.. It's obviously not aesthetics...

Also, having tha airflow fight each other is just stupid... you canclling out the airflow by having the back and front as intake... you want FLOW over components not necessarily just air coming into and out of the case... a directed path is better than what your suggesting..

If you want top exhaust, then go bottom intake.

Sure it moves up, but fans are much stronger.

Direct airflow trumps convection heat.

If you have heat source, and fan, as shown in pic, B will get hotter before A.

But with even that it is good to have passive cooling on top right?

What?

Ohh shit.. Just noticed your from Greece, that could be taken as a bad joke in some places..

But anyway, back on topic.. It means what it says, read it again. No flow over the components = nothing done.. as in no heat taken away.
