i7 4790k or i5 4690k

Go to solution Solved by BiG StroOnZ,

I would go with the 4790k based on your needs. Also, saving a $100 isn't necessarily going to yield you a GPU. You still have to save at least $300 to get anything decent. So I would just get the 4790k and start saving for a GPU upgrade later. The 7870 XT is still a nice GPU.

Hello guys

I have a hard time choosing which Cpu i want for my system
The i7 4790k or i5 4690k

What i want to do:
Video editing -> Editing Games, Making 10 hours songs,  Green screen, Short films
Modeling -> Cinema 4d (for my youtube channel and maybe animation)
Gaming -> I currently have a 7870 xt 2 gb so i don't know if you shoud spend 100 euro's more on i7 4790k or save it for graphics card
Photoshop -> random things

System right now:

Samsung 850 evo 250 GB

FX 6300

Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT 2 GB

16 Gb ddr3 1866 mhz

if budget is tight, i'd suggest going for the i5, *IF* that allows you to get a better GPU.

^This. You are kinda right on the edge of what the i7 is useful for, so if it significantly changes the GPU you can buy, go for the i5. If not, you will very likely see benefits from the i7.
