Yes it is possible, though you're probably going to hit a wall with only 2GB of VRAM, I'd recommend going with a card with 4GB or so.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I would say no, i have a 3gb card and i wish i had more VRAM. I think you should buy the best single card you can and then add another one in the future.

game runs fine for me and i have a single 770. I wouldent buy a 770 now though as you can get a 970 for close to the same price that 770's are still going for. Just keep the advanced graphics settings like distance scale down and it should work quite well.

My 3-way SLI GTX 465s choke with only 1GB of VRAM. I'm forced to run it on normal settings otherwise I run out of VRAM. At least I can maintain 170 fps consistently.

It can run, even at 1440p ( ive a 680 2gb and run max settings ( no advanced, no aa) but fps is not the best and textures popping in are more noticeable.

if you're buying i'd recommend buying a card with more vram though

Hey there. You are looking mighty fine today, have my virtual cookie!

i would still go with the 970. Actually, if you have the money for two 770's, just get a 980. The 770's as they stand now are not that great of a value.
